The Downslink Ultra is a 38 mile point to point race following the Downslink national trail. The race will start at St Martha's Hill, Guildford in Surrey and finish at Shoreham by the sea on the Sussex south coast.
The North York Moors National Park in conjunction with the Hardmoors Race Series present the Turnpike Trot 10k Trail Race and the Rabbit Run 5k Trail Race. Each Trail Race is well marked and marshalled so no navigational skills are needed.
New trail race for 2022, run for the first time in trial form last year. Starting from Mount Hawke cricket club at 11am the race takes in some coast path around Chapel Porth and back towards Porthtowan before a loop around Tywarnhayle mine.
The Bronze National Navigation Award is a practical hands-on award. It is aimed at people with no navigation experience whether you are new to the outdoors or have been relying on others, guidebooks or easy well-defined routes.
This is a 6 hour challenge event and each lap is 5km long. Runners have the opportunity to run as many laps as they wish within the 6 hour limit. One complete lap will earn the finisher a bespoke Abbey Ascent Medal.
