The Epney Trail Run is a small scale, community focused trail race set in the village of Epney, Gloucestershire. Covering approximately 11 miles, 17 km, with around 70 m of elevation gain, the route starts and finishes at The Anchor Inn.
The course follows a clearly marked circular route along the Gloucester to Sharpness Canal towpath and local public footpaths, including sections of the Severn Way. The terrain is predominantly flat and off road, with a mix of towpath and trail surfaces. While suitable for first time trail runners, participants should be aware that underfoot conditions may vary depending on weather and may include uneven or muddy sections. A GPX file of the route will be provided in advance for reference.
The event will be marshalled at key points along the route, with one aid station approximately halfway. First aid provision will be in place, however, all runners are responsible for their own safety and should be prepared for the conditions on the day.
The race will start at 10:00, with a final cut-off time of 3 hours. All participants must finish by 13:00. Runners who fall outside of this time may be withdrawn from the event in line with the event safety plan.
