This is a Marches LDWA challenge walk. All proceeds will go to Holdgate & Eaton church communities who have asssisted us on previous events.
Start: Holdgate Church, Nr Much Wenlock, Shropshire TF13 6LW. Grid Ref SO 562896. There will be clearly signed parking nearby.
Start times:
- Event centre (Holdgate Church) will be open from 07:30 for registration & hot drinks.
- 22 mile walkers - between 08:00 & no later than 09:00.
- 10 mile walkers & runners - between 09:00 & no later than 10:00.
Holdgate Church will close at 18:30.
22 mile Route: From Holdgate via tracks/fields to summit of Abdon Burf, traverse hill/valley to Clee St Margaret (CP 1) on to Munslow Park up/over Wenlock Edge to Eaton (CP 2) back on to Wenlock Edge, Wilderhope & return to Holdgate.
10 mile Route: From Holdgate to Abdon Burf summit, across to Clee St Margaret (CP) to Tugford then across fields/lanes to return to Holdgate.
General notes:
- Both walkers & runners welcome.
- Hot drinks available at start, full refreshments at CPs, ie cakes (of course), sandwiches & hot drinks. At finish hot dogs will be served.
- Sorry, NO DOGS, livestock country.
- Under 18s to be accompanied by parent/guardian.
- Map, OS Explorer 217, Longmynd & Wenlock Edge.
- Participants to have suitable clothing for changeable weather conditions..
- PLEASE BRING A MUG.
