Introduction

The Cleveland Hills 30KM is a point-to-point trail running challenge following the Wainwright Coast to Coast path through the stunning North York Moors.

Starting at Ingleby Arncliffe and finishing at The Lion Inn, Blakey Ridge, participants will cross a varied landscape of exciting trails, rolling ridgelines, exposed moorland and ancient woodland.

With a generous six-hour cut-off, the event is designed to challenge trail runners and strong hikers alike while providing a supportive and welcoming race experience.

The Route

The route follows the established Coast to Coast path from Ingleby Arncliffe to The Lion Inn at Blakey Ridge.

Although much of the route is waymarked, participants must not rely solely on waymarkers for navigation.

The terrain includes:

  • Trail and forest tracks
  • Open and exposed moorland
  • Uneven and occasionally technical ground
  • Short sections of road

A GPX file and final route information will be provided before the event.

Checkpoint

There will be one checkpoint along the route:

CP1 – Lordstones (12.7KM)

The checkpoint will provide:

  • Water and food, including vegan and gluten-free options
  • Snacks and race nutrition
  • Indoor access and toilet facilities
  • First-aid support

Cut-Offs

Overall cut-off: 6 hours

Participants must reach the checkpoint within the cut-off time detailed in the final event pack.

Anyone falling behind the required pace may be withdrawn from the event where necessary for their safety and the safe operation of the race.
