The Hardcoast 50 is a new race in the Hardmoors calendar for July 2027
The route will follow the coastal paths of the King Charles Way and Cleveland Way from Fraisthorpe to Whitby
Starting at Fraisthorpe (south of Bridlington) the route passes the traditional English seaside resort of Bridlington before following spectacular cliff top paths along the Headland Way taking in Flamborough Head and Bempton Cliffs to arrive at the coastal resort of Filey and the start of the iconic Cleveland Way. The route continues along cliff top paths to the coastal destination of Scarborough and the smaller but no less impressive resorts of Ravenscar and Robin hoods Bay before finishing at the top of the 199 steps in the beautiful Gothic town of Whitby.

There is a strict kit list:
You must carry all the items for the full race, anyone caught without full kit will be disqualified!

YOU MUST CARRY ALL YOUR OWN KIT!!
COACH
The COACH will take runners (who have booked a place on the coach) from the Race Finish (Whitby) to the race start (Fraisthorpe) BEFORE the event.
TIME - 0630
PICK UP - Whitby Abbey Headland Carpark, Whitby YO22 4JT
COACH FEE - £25.00 This needs to be booked at the time of entering the race on Si entries
DROP BAGS
You will be allowed TWO NON-RETURNABLE drop bags.
Please keep these to a minimum size: i.e. freezer bag size or supermarket carrier bag size. Remember there is food on the course, you will not need to bring a hamper of goodies!! The drop bags are really for spare gels, energy bars, food, sock change or an extra layer. REMEMBER: WHAT YOU DON'T CARRY WITH YOU OUT OF YOUR DROP BAG WILL BE DISPOSED OF!
Drop Bags must have your name and Drop Bag location written clearly on the bag. Stickers tend to fall off, so if you use them find some foolproof way of attaching them to the bag, otherwise both your drop bags may end up at the same location.
KEEP THE DROP BAGS SMALL AND REMEMBER THEY ARE NON-RETURNABLE
RUNNERS are allowed 1 Small Finish Bag. This will be taken to the finish
TRACKER
Included in your race entry is a tracker. A tracker will give out your location at any time online. A huge bonus for safety reasons and also handy for your crew (if you have one) to detect where you are on the route and when to 'brew up' ready for your arrival.
The trackers will be available for collection at the race registration (your name will be associated to an individual tracker) It will be attached to your race vest for you. (If you lose a tracker you will be charged for a replacement.) A couple of days before the event you will receive an email with a link to the tracker (plus it will be available on the Hardmoors website) so you can pass the link onto friends/family/ Facebook etc, so people can watch your progress throughout the event.
