Running has never been so popular but as the sport grows, so does the divide.
Fast vs slow. Sprinters vs distance junkies. Elites vs everyday joggers. Forget all that.
Backyard Ultra blows the finish line wide open.
One loop. One hour. Repeat.
Whether you smash out a single lap and call it your first-ever ‘race’ or you’re still grinding 30+ hours later, this event’s built different.
We’re here to tear down the barriers, cheer on every runner and create a space where showing up matters more than showing off
THE CONCEPT
- 4.167miles
- 6.7056 kilometers
- 6706.1364 metres
- Start on the hour every hour
- No finish time
- Last person standing wins
- Everyone else is technically a DNF
THE DETAILS
- Location: The Race HQ will be in a private farming field, so please come prepared, if you're in it for the long haul - Your own tent + your own supplies.
- Course: The course will be on Cornish country lanes with a lap up and along a section of the Coast Path at Bedruthan Steps. We would say it is more undulating than hilly but this should help with pacing your laps and ensure your body has a mixture or movement and terrains! (Route Map Coming Soon)
- Camping: There is camping available for just £25 per person from Friday evening until the last lap has been completed. We ask everyone to respect the land and all of the owners property as if it was your own backyard.
- Support: We encourage everyone to bring supporters along with them, please ensure if they are camping they also purchase a camping pass.
- Kit List: There will be an essential kit list including; high vis, head torches and backlights - But full list TBC closer to the race date.
Cornwall’s first Backyard Ultra isn’t just a race.
