MapRun event open for the whole of August

Competitors can compete at any time between 6th - 18th August using either Maprun app or paper clues. One of a series of 10 informal Street Orienteering events from April - September based in towns around North Wiltshire. Each event will offer 3 courses (Short/Medium/Long). League position determined by your best 6 results in a single course class (S,M or L).

Wrekin annual summer event with 3 courses of varying length . Emphasis on a social event in a beautiful location - bring your picnic tea .

Event 6 of 8 of the SO summer parkland series

Panshanger Park is 1000 acres of woodland and open parkland astride the chalk-stream of the Mimram Valley,

First use of a brand new area. Event 7 of 8 of the SO summer parkland series. Three courses:- Sprint approx 3km, Orange approx 2km, Yellow approx 1.2km.

60 or 75 minutes street score for Solo, Pair or Trio

You have 60 minutes, and a map with approximately 25 checkpoints to visit. Your goal: to score points by visiting checkpoints. Score as many points as you can, and get back to the start within the time limit. We will be using Map run app look at the SWOC website for final details on downloading this. You can choose which checkpoints to visit, in any order, via any route. Checkpoints are a mixture of lamp posts, fire hydrants and other urban features and have between 10 and 40 points awarded. The control sites will not be otherwise marked on the ground. The event will run according to current British Orienteering rules for the return to orienteering in Wales and will also follow any Welsh Government guidelines in force at the time of the event. Mass start at 7pm. Pre entry only via Fabian 4.

Parkland

Final event (8 of 8) of the SO summer sprint series. Three courses:- sprint approx 3km, Orange approx 2km, Yellow approx 1.2km. Mainly open parkland

Open parkland with some woodland and contour detail. Much of the area is the ancient monument covering the Roman town of Verulamium, although all you can see is a few fragments of walls that were left after the townsfolk had raided the site for building materials.

Club junior and Adams-Avery relays. There will be 4 relay classes for teams of three. You can also enter as an individual and we will help to fit you into a team where possible, but it may be necessary for some entries to be non-competitive. If at all possible, please organise your team before entering. The Adams Avery Trophy is open to any group of three competitors from a single club with a total points score sum of no more than 24 (see table on event webpage for details). Team entries and individual runs will be available on Fabian 4. The entire entry process will use Fabian 4. There will be NO form to be emailed to the organiser. You will need to enter your team and assign a team name. You will then need to enter your three runners in the order in which you want them to run: Leg 1 runner first, leg 2 runner and then leg 3 runner. You will need to specify the names of your runners. Changes will be possible on the morning of the relay, but please try to keep changes to a minimum to help the computer team! If your team wishes to be considered for the Adams Avery please check that your team conforms to the eligibility criteria below. It would be helpful if you indicated eligibility in the Fabian 4 comments box when entering, but the organiser will check no eligible teams have been excluded from the Adams Avery competition. If you don’t have a full team (i.e. single or pair of runners wishing to run) you will still need to enter as though you are a team. Enter the RELAY class you would like to run and fill in the name/s of your runners, which will not add up to three in this instance. Fabian 4 will allow this. Please specify your preferred colour-coded course in the Fabian 4 comments box. We will do our best to find a team for as many of you as possible, while respecting your choice of course. If we are unable to place you in a team you may still have an individual run on the day.

Event 1 (of 8) of the Autumn-Winter 2024 SOG series, aimed at SO club members, other local orienteers and newcomers of all ages. Five courses. Blue (difficult - approx 6km), Green (difficult - approx 4km), Short Green (difficult - approx 3km), Orange (easyish - approx 2.5km) & Yellow (easy - approx 1.5km). Newcomers should start with the Yellow or Orange course.
