This event will have a challenge for club members, and also training opportunities for school children.

Competitors can compete at any time between 30 April - 12 May using either Maprun app or paper clues. One of a series of 10 informal Street Orienteering events from April - September based in towns around North Wiltshire. Each event will offer 3 courses (Short/Medium/Long). League position determined by your best 6 results in a single course class (S,M or L).

Part of BOK's Urban Series, held most Wednesday evenings from late April to early July. Short, Medium and Long courses available. Best 6 results on each course score for series prizes, with separate male and female competitions. Under-16s may compete alone on the Short course. On the Medium and Long courses, they must be closely accompanied (not just shadowed) by a responsible adult. At assembly will be a paid bar which will be open for us to use. Please feel free to stick around after your run to discuss route choices over a drink. The village of Pucklechurch (population approx. 3,000) sits on an elevated plateau about 8 miles to the north east of Bristol, 8 miles to the north west of Bath and just south of the Cotswolds and the nearby M4 motorway. It is surrounded almost entirely by agricultural land. The name appears as “Pulcrecerce” in the Domesday Book of 1086, and the name is believed to mean 'Pucela's church’. One of the current major features in the village is HM Prison Ashfield, which was previously known as HMP Pucklechurch for young offenders. The site of the prison was originally that of RAF Pucklechurch which opened in August 1939 as No.11 Balloon Centre as a barrage balloon depot during the Second World War. The actor, broadcaster, comedian, director, narrator and writer Stephen Fry was briefly an inmate of HMP Pucklechurch, when he spent four months on remand there when he was 17 after stealing a credit card and “embarking on a countrywide spending spree”. Modern landmarks in the village include the Moat House and the Grey House, both of which are Grade II* listed.

HAVOC-SOS Midweek Summer Series consists of 8 evening events (4 organised by each club). Urban setting including roads, paths and parkland. Enter on Racesignup.co.uk ; discounted Golden Ticket available for all eight events. Under 16s must be accopmpanied by an adult. The event will use the Maprun app or pin punch as back-up.

Final event (8 of 8) of spring "SOG" series, aimed at SO club members, newcomers and other local orienteers. Five courses, Blue, Green, Short Green, Orange & Yellow. Orange & Yellow are suitable for newcomers of all ages, including children and family groups

Event for families - children and parents

This event will have a challenge for club members, and also training opportunities for school children.

Level D local Event Terrain: sloping woodland with multiple intricate features, notably pits, depressions and gullies. Significant undergrowth in patches, especially in the northern part of the map, but courses have been planned to include as much runnable terrain as possible. A lovely wood for children (or adults) to play in before or after their run – including at least two rope swings!
