River Mersey Source to Sea (2022)

I accept the following terms for my own entry. I also accept the terms on behalf of any other participants I am entering in this event, including anyone under 18 years old, all of whom have been provided with a copy of these terms and accept them:

• I declare that the information on this form is complete and correct.
• I understand and agree that I participate in this event at my own risk and that I must rely on my own ability in dealing with all hazards.
• I agree that no liability whatsoever shall be attached to the promoter, promoting club, meeting sponsor(s) or member of the promoting club in respect of any injury, loss or damage suffered by me on or by reason of the event, however caused.
• I consent to publication of my name, club, race category, race number, finishing time and race position in race pre-entry and results lists.
• I understand all swimming is undertaken on my own recognisance – I am responsible for my own risk assessment of what is right for me, taking all factors into account.
• I am aware that when swimming outdoors, it is accepted practice never to swim alone, to have someone watching from shore or a boat, to acclimatise progressively over a period of months to cooler temperatures, to maximise my visibility to other water users, to plan where I will be able to exit the water and to generally take all possible steps to mitigate risk.
• I am aware that advice received from other swimmers through any forum we create is not advice form the organiser of the challenge.
• I acknowledge that it is recommended to seek advice from my doctor before starting open water swimming or significantly changing the swimming I already do, such as, but not limited to distance, temperature, location or attire.
• I understand this is a virtual challenge. I am not expected to actually swim in the River Mersey!!
• I will attend one of the listed swim-venues in the North West on either 15/16 Oct or 22/23 October 2022 to collect my medal in person (dates and times TBC) or nominate another participant to collect it for me. I am aware no medals will be posted.
