Wanstead Flats - part of the 2026 London Park Race Series
Wanstead Flats is the southernmost portion of Epping Forest.
It offers an ideal mix of open grassland for high-speed running combined with a complex path network, patches of woodland, thickets and ponds for technical depth.
The area has been recently resurveyed, and both long and short courses will use an A3 map at 1:5000

Both start and finish will be c.400m from The Holly Tree. Allow 5 minute to walk. Getting to the start and back from the finish will involve crossing two roads, both of which have pedestrian crossings. The crossing and roads will not be marshalled.
Public Transport: We recommend taking the Elizabeth Line to Forest Gate (which is a 12 minute walk from the Pub) or the Suffragette Line to Wanstead Park (which is an 8 minute walk to the pub). From either station, walk North on Woodgrange road until you hit Dames Road on the left. Walk along Dames road for about 6 minutes. The maps app on your phone is your friend!
Parking: There is limited parking, and we would advise you to take public transport if possible. Parking is available in the local residential streets around the pub, but most of it is Residents Only parking until 18:30, after which it’s free to use by everyone.
Courses: Long Course (approx 5k) and Short Course (approx 2.5k) available Times: Starts: 18:00 -> 19:30 Courses close: 20:30 Map: Map will be on A3, scale 1:5000
Facilities: Toilets and a variety of refreshments available in the pub, we have a lovely area reserved and we encourage people to stay and socialise afterwards. Enquiries and download will be in The Conservatory in the pub garden, and the pub will be showing the France vs Senegal match in a separate area at 8pm for those interested.
