Come and join us for a fantastic day of Canicross in the beautiful surroundings of Rivington Pike and the surrounding moorland. This route offers stunning views, varied terrain, and a true trail-running experience for both you and your dog.
The course follows a scenic loop starting near Lower House, heading out across open moorland, along well-established trails, and through woodland sections near Rivington Gardens. You’ll experience a mix of firm paths, natural trails, and gentle technical sections, making it a rewarding run for all abilities.
While the route is not overly technical, it does include steady climbs and descents, particularly as you head up towards the higher ground near Belmont. This makes it a great step up for beginners ready to progress, while still offering an enjoyable challenge for more experienced runners.
Our event is about community as much as competition. Expect a friendly, welcoming atmosphere where everyone is encouraged—whether you’re jogging, running, or pushing for a personal best. Safety and dog welfare are our top priorities, with planned points for water, rest, and support along the route.

- Start Time: 9:00am
- Distance: ~5km loop
- Parking: Available at Lower House Car Park, with additional parking at nearby sites if needed.Parking at Lower House Car Park is limited. Participants are asked to park considerately, follow any local restrictions, and avoid blocking access for residents, emergency vehicles, or other visitors. Where possible, please car share or use alternative nearby parking locations. The event organiser accepts no responsibility for vehicles or their contents.

- Toilets & café: Available at Rivington Hall Barn (approx. 5–10 minutes’ drive from the start)
- Additional public toilets and refreshments also available at Anderton Centre
- Please note: there are no toilets directly at the start area, so plan accordingly
- Course Support: Clearly marked route with marshals positioned at key points to keep you safe and on track
2 dog teams (max) welcome, but no separate prize categories are on offer.
