Meersbrook Park, Sheffield 22-23 June 2024, noon to noon

Thank you for coming to the sign up page for small park BIG RUN. This is a joyous community event and a celebration of Palestine. We are now in our 8th year.

A unique, fun, 24-hour running community challenge in Meersbrook Park, Sheffield we raise awareness of and funds for women’s education and children’s mental health in Palestine.

The situation for Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank has deteriorated terribly since October last year. Aside from the awful killing - in Gaza over 31000 people have been killed among them over 12000 children - the destruction of civil and cultural life has been overwhelming. The International Court of Justice has found it plausible that Israel's acts could amount to genocide.

By participating you can display solidarity, empathy and friendship with the people of Palestine, help give them strength to continue resisting and send a message that people of conscience around the world have not forgotten them.

The funds we raise for will now be needed more than ever. Details of how to do extra fund-raising for these projects can be found here. Please read on for how to enter.

It is called a ‘run’ but move how you like! Our aim is for highly inclusive participation. This event is for all abilities and disabilities: babes, pensioners, joggers, ultra-runners, wheelchair users;  from those who have completed a few aided solidarity steps up to ultra runners completing the whole 24 hours.

We aim to have at least two people running, walking, jogging or wheeling round a 1km  circuit of Meersbrook Park at all times over 24 hours.

Suitable for all abilities - we are committed to helping people get round if you need support to do so; you choose the distance and the time you start. Run as an individual, team or family.

There is also a free one lap Fun Run for all but especially children on Sunday at 12.15pm after the 24-hour run is complete.

When you pay your sign up fee you can also make a donation.

You can choose, via the "Time Slot" dropdown list, either to choose your timeslots during registration or to say that you will choose them later: in this case we will remind you nearer the time if you haven't chosen.

You will have the opportunity to register interest in merchandise including ordering a commemorative t-shirt, buff or a mug via the registration form. You can see the range of t-shirt sizes and all prices here

If you aren't going to be with us on the Sunday, please try to join us on a zoom when we will be broadcasting a mass sing - involving six choirs, the runners and their families and anyone else who wants to join in - from the park to the children in Gaza. Keep an eye out for the zoom link and find out more information about this and all the other things which will be going on at our programme page.
