Wade’s Revenge Half Marathon
Registration is from 08:00 am start at 08:45, at Levisham Village Hall, Main Street Levisham YO18 7NL
A trail half marathon, circa 13.1 miles over the beautiful North York Moors National Park.
5 hr time limit.
The route will take you through forest tracks on ancient pathways and sheep trods, through open fields, wooded valleys and expansive moorland. You will run through the Hole of Horcum which is around 400 ft deep and 3/4 of a mile wide. Legend states that the giant Wade created it during an argument with his wife Belle when he threw a clump of earth at her. Fortunately it missed her, forming a nearby hill, now called Blakey Topping...
There will be two checkpoint locations on the course providing the usual fare of flap jacks, crisps, sweets etc, water and pop.
There will also be tea/coffee , soup and a roll at the end.
Places are limited to 50 lucky runners.
All finishers will receive a bespoke medal especially commissioned for the event.
No bells, whistles or gimmicks, just a great route with a sting in the trail!
No entries on the day.

Each entrant must carry as a minimum:
- Waterproof jacket with taped seams unless Paramo.
- Hat / buff/ gloves- Emergency bivvy bag.
- Spare long sleeved warm insulating top.
- Charged mobile phone which ideally should have OS maps/ locate and what3words loaded onto it, along with the race directors number.
- At least 500 mils of fluid and at least 120 grams of emergency food.
- Working compass
- OS Explorer 27 or Harvey’s North Yorkshire Moors Map.
All will sign a disclaimer to say they have the correct kit, there may be a spot check along the route and anyone not carrying the mandatory equipment will be withdrawn from the event and barred from future SilverBackTrail events.
The course will have Marshall’s and some flags placed out to aid with navigation, each entrant will be sent a route GPX and there will be a master route map to look at registration.
There will be no refunds given however transfers can be made up to 1 week before the event.
Parking will be within the village of Lewisham adjacent to the village hall. details will be confirmed prior to the event.
£1 pound per car will be collected at registration which will be divided between the village hall and the national park.
All taking part must be over 16 years on the day of the event
Dogs are allowed however they must be kept on a lead and will start after the other participants,
