Belstone Bimbles is the second event in the members only Dartmoor Diaries series of smaller events located in differing parts of Dartmoor. The event comprises 3 routes of approx 10 miles each, all starting and finishing at Belstone Village Hall.

Due to bird nesting seasons numbers are strictly limited and a wait list will be in operation.

Entrants may undertake distances of 10, 20 or 30 miles by undertaking 3 loops of approx 10 miles in a specific order.  The majority of the routes are on open moorland with some woodlands, river walks and lanes. Full 30 mile route has approx 3,800 feet of ascent.

Registration opens: 07:15.  Hot drinks, squash, water and biscuits availabe before the start.  All entrants to start at 8am.  Loops must be completed in the specified order and all entrants must return to the indoor hall between to check in and for light refreshments/hot and cold drinks between loops.  A hot meal will be provided at the finish.  All to finish by 20:00.

Entrants must be able to read a map and follow compass bearings and have sufficient knowledge, experience, equipment and navigational skills to take part in this walk in all conditions and especially in the event of bad weather.

**Parking conditions apply to this event.  Strictly no parking in Belstone Village Car Park. Entrants are to park at Belstone Cricket Club along the side of the field clear of the boundary line***

We apologise but unfortunately dogs cannot be allowed to participate in the event. Entrants must follow the  Dartmoor Ranger Code and Countryside Code and Dartmoor Commoners Council Cattle Advice at all times.**

All routes will be covered by the OS Explorer OL28 Dartmoor (1:25,000). All entrants will be emailed links for the route descriptions and GPX files prior to the event.

Certificates will be given on the day to all those who complete the walk, entrants are able to change distance on the day.  Cut off times will apply and entrants unlikely to complete the full distance may be retired at the hall.

A marshals walk will take place on Sunday 7 June 2026.  Please contact Paula at [email protected] using the subject "Belstone" for information about the marshals event and how to obtain a place.
