Event Disclaimer / Terms and ConditionsT's & C's

I am either 18 or over, or I will be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times and have the consent a parent/guardian/person with parental responsibility.

I am a current member of the LDWA.

I confirm I will not bring a dog to the event  and understand that if I appear to be walking with a dog on the event I will be disqualified immediately without refund.

I confirm I will not park in Belstone Village or Village Car Park and that if I am found to be parking in the Village or Car Park I will be disqualified immediately without refund.  Transport is not included in my entry fee but separately funded by Cornwall & Devon LDWA. Full parking and transport information will be provided ahead of the event. Any transport will operate at limited times at the event organisers and marshals convenience.  Anyone seeking alternative transport outside these times will be required to organise their own transport at their own cost.

I will follow the Dartmoor Ranger Code  and Countryside Code  and Dartmoor Commoners Council Cattle Advice at all times and I will try to use existing tracks and paths to protect ground nesting habitats.

I  participate in the “Belstone Bimbles” event at my own risk. I understand that I am responsible for ensuring that I have undertaken the necessary preparation and training to participate in the event, that I am sufficiently fit and healthy to participate and that I will comply with all relevant UK Government and local COVID laws and guidelines should any exist. I understand that if I have a medical condition that would cause me to doubt whether I can participate in the event, then I will not do so unless I have sought reassurance from a medical professional. I understand that the Long Distance Walkers Association will not be held responsible or liable for any loss, damage, action, cost, expense, claim, injury, illness and in worst case scenario, death suffered as a result of my participation. On entering the event, I assume full and complete responsibility for any injury, accident, costs, expenses, damages, losses and any other liabilities which may occur while I am travelling to and from the event and during the event.

I have the navigation skills to use a compass and map.   I will follow the routes in the correct order unless otherwise directed by a marshal. If undertaking more than 1 loop I will return to the CP between loops to have my route card stamped between loops.  If I wish to retire I will attempt to do so at a checkpoint and will hand my route card to a marshal.  In an emergency I will ring the telephone number supplied on the route card. I will not retire from the event without ensuring I have informed a marshal or the event organisers.

I will wear suitable clothing and footwear and carry as a minimum the following kit: compass, map, first aid kit, whistle, torch, pencil, adequate waterproofs, warm clothing, adequate water supply, emergency survival bag, mug and food.  Due to the variance in cellular signal if using a digital device as a map I will have downloaded an offline version and have sufficient charge.

I understand that in all matters relevant to the event the decision of the marshals and organisers will be final.

I understand that the personal information submitted on this entry form will be held by the event organisers and retained securely for up to seven years after the event is held for the purposes of managing this event only. I accept that photographs are likely to be taken at the event, which may be featured in Strider magazine, group newsletters, on LDWA websites and on LDWA social media. I understand this will be held in perpetuity and I have the right to request deletion where it is physically possible for the LDWA to do so. I understand that my personal data may be published immediately and may be held in perpetuity for the purposes of providing a record of the event. I have the right to request that all my personal data be anonymised or removed where it is possible for the LDWA to do so. Please see the Data Protection and Privacy User Guide on www.ldwa.org.uk for more information.

I understand that if I wish to cancel my entry before 31 May 2026 I will be refunded my entry minus an administration fee of £5. There will be no refunds available after this date.
