A not-for-profit charity fundraiser for St.Teresa’s Hospice supported by Ruined Running Events Ltd.

This 5 mile (ish) trail race has race registration at Scar Top, Barnard Castle. Entrants will be escorted along the River Tees to the race start by volunteers. The route will head through Pecknell Woods followed by the Lartington Estate before crossing Lartington Lane and heading across to the beautiful Deepdale Nature Reserve. The race will finish at Brightwoods within Deepdale where a warm welcome will await. Finishers will be shown how to return to race headquarters at ScarTop to collect drop-bags and receive a hot drink. Please note that no dogs are permitted on the route due to the possibility of sheep being present.

Blow away the excesses of the festive season whilst supporting St.Teresa’s Hospice!

Registration: 8.30am to 9.45am

Start Time: 10.15am cut-off for mass walk to start (10.30am).

Facilities: toilets will be available at the Race Headquarters at ScarTop. There is also an opportunity to drop a bag / jacket off for collection post-race providing it is clearly marked with your race number.

Parking: Parking is available in Barnard Castle town centre. Further details to be supplied to participants as race-day comms.

Terrain: whilst the route starts out on concrete, the majority of the route is on dirt tracks and across fields with a stream crossing. There are tree roots, boggy sections and technical downhill trails. Trail or hybrid shoes are recommended.

Minimum Kit: Hat, gloves and a long sleeve top are recommended as the weather in January could be fresh!

In order to reduce the environmental impact of this event, we shall not be giving out water bottles or disposable cups. Please bring your own water bottle or reusable cups, many thanks.
