Welcome to Season 4 of Lakeland Paws events! We are delighted to bring you 9 events in the series this season, plus our Dawn 2 Dusk event. Each event follows the same format and starts at 9am with individual starts for each athlete so that all dogs have the space they need to start safely. The courses are a mix of forest roads and trails.
This route at Dodd Wood climbs and then contours around the summit of Dodd, providing a stunning run down with superb views across Derwentwater and the Coledale Fells. As the majority of this course is on wide trails we allow two dogs per runner, but please note there are some narrower sections and the final decent is relatively steep; you will need to go at your pace and not your dogs! All dogs must be run on a suitable harness. Runners are also welcome to compete without dogs. The longer option is an 8K loop with 370m of ascent. There is a shorter option, which avoids some of the ascent is 5K and has 210m of vert. This is recommended for beginners or those seeking an easier route.
The event is chip timed and will be marked. GPX files are available to download too.
