The event is based at Blackheath in the Surrey Hills. There are a wealth of excellent trails to ride. Good map reading and navigation skills will be a big advantage. The event is first one of the 2025/26 Series. Prizes for the 2024/25 Series will be presented after the ride.
You’ll be given a marked up OS A3 waterproof map and have 2 or 3 hours to visit as many checkpoints as possible. You can enter as a solo, pair or family team.
To participate you will need the MapRun App on your Android or iPhone, or a Garmin Watch with the MapRunG App, or any GPS watch. A link to download the course to your phone will be sent shortly before the event. The PIN code will be given at the start. It's important not to enter the PIN code until you are ready to go as your time will start as soon as you do so.
If you're new to orienteering and don't have a map board you'll be given a basic one to attach to your bike.
