Start window: 530pm to 730pm Can be done solo, in a pair, or as a team of 3 or more. Each participant needs to put in an individual entry EXCEPT accompanied youngsters under 18 who go for FREE (when accompanied by a paying adult who must be 21+). Juniors aged 16 and above can run/walk alone with parental permission - in this case they need their own individual entry at the standard adult rate. A waterproof map of the course is provided to ALL participants. Please enter early for the best rates and to help with planning for maps, parking, event officials and catering.

Tuesday evening Sunset Spunch with Poynton Runners - Countryside Spunch from the Boars Head, 2 Shrigley Road North, Poynton SK12 1TE.
One of our late summer / early autumn Sunset Spunch Series - making the most of the midweek evening daylight before the clocks go back. Get an early start and beat the dark or enjoy the sun setting before you return in fading light (hi vis clothing & torch necessary for later starters).

The usual 60, 90 and 120 min score course options (choose on the night itself).
Bag Drop, Loos, Start, Finish, Food & Drink all at the Boars Head. Evening Spunch for runners & walkers. Very family friendly & dog friendly too.
A much overdue return to an old favourite at the Boars Head. Some will remember one of our very early Spunch events from there in November 2022. A great pub located in a great area for sunset Spunching being on west facing slopes with good views and with a rich network of paths, tracks & trails in beautiful countryside.
About 20 mins from M60 J3 & M56 J6. 30 mins from M6 J19. Poynton is particularly convenient for Macclesfield, Bollington, Alderley Edge, Wilmslow, Bramhall, Hazel Grove, Marple, Disley, Whaley Bridge and Buxton etc.
Run, jog or walk - suitable for road runners, trail runners, park runners, fell runners, adventure racers, orienteers, walkers, newcomers, and families alike. 2k to 22k, the choice is yours! Newcomers and locals always very welcome. Great for families and friends to do together. Suitable for all ages and abilities - lots of help available for newcomers. Dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a lead and under control at all times.
Start at your convenience anytime between 530pm & 730pm. (Last start for 90min course 715pm, last start for 120min course 645pm). Registration open from 530pm.
Beat the dark! Catch the Sunset! Sunset will be around 720pm and it will be dark from 8pm. Earlier starters may have the advantage of daylight throughout! Wear hi-visibility clothing and bring a torch / head torch if you expect to be still out after 715pm!
Navigating with a specially prepared map, visit as many checkpoints as you can in the time available, S-punching using the MapRun app on your smartphone, Garmin or Apple Watch.
Explore the area's rich network of paths which offer great running & walking* and navigational opportunities in the beautiful surrounding countryside. Hilly and less hilly options are available as we will make use of both the Macclesfield Canal towpath and the Middlewood way, both of which pass close to the pub. These provide good access to Jacksons nature reserve, Middlewood woods, Prince's Wood & Poynton Coppice all of which are delightful pockets of woodland. Even locals will likely discover new paths and places!
The Boars Head will provide a warm welcome with excellent Food & Drink available after your run / walk. The pub is child and dog friendly. And a nice outdoor area if the weather is kind.
With over 60 Spunchpoints to go for - how many will you bag?
Car parking all within 5 mins walk, either for free in the pub car park or on nearby road sides. Or in the Cheshire East Nelson Pit Car Park (small charge)
Catch the Spunch Train. Poynton train station is 4k from the venue (7 mins cab ride away, 15 mins on a bike). It is very well served by trains from Manchester, Stockport and Stoke, and everything in between.
