The Poacher Enduro is a fun 4 stage mashup 1 day race set in the Belvoir Castle Estate close to Melton Mowbray. Set in a 1500acre woodland there will be 4 timed stages ranging from flow to tech, chunky and rooty to smooth and fast, the emphasis is on the fun.
This is an inclusive event suitable for anyone comfortable with UK trail centre type trails and is ideal for all experience levels. Whether you’re a gnarled race veteran or you’re just looking to dip your toe into the world of Enduro, there’s something here for everyone. E-bikes, fat bikes, hard tails, full suss, unicycles are all welcome. If you think you can make it round, you can ride it.
Riders will receive times for each stage and one for the over all. Get out there with your mates and experience all the fun things about race day with none of the pressure. This weekend is all about the good times.
How will the day run?
Registration will open at 0800 on the sunday, at 0930 you will embark on a 2.5mile ride up to the woods where you will ride all four stages as many times as you like until you need to start heading back for tea and medals at 1530.
The stages.
All 4 stages will be suitable if you can ride basic trail centres. Stage 1 and 2 are a mix of natural and jumps and berms. Stages 3 and 4 will be natural off piste on slightly steeper terrain. You can ride the stages as many times as you like and your fastest run will count on each stage towards your overall time.
The stages are fast flowy and short with a minimal amount of pedaling. The up is straight is straight direct to the top maximizing your ride time.
Overnight camping is available on the Saturday.
E-Bikes: Must conform to UK regulation Your bike must have pedals.
Okay, that’s fairly obvious. But anything that doesn’t actually have pedals capable of propelling it can’t be classed as an e-bike under UK law. Motor: 250W maximum. Your e-bike must have a motor with a continuous rated power of no more than 250W. Maximum assistance speed:
15.5mph. The electrical assistance must cut-off when the vehicle reaches
15.5 mph. That’s effectively the same as the EU law, which limits it to 25km/h.
