A High Peak 3-Peaks Challenge with a twist.  You choose which order to visit them in, and you choose which (legal!) routes to take between the peaks.

Suitable for both Runners and Walkers (and anything in between), the event takes in the summits of South Head, Chinley Churn (Big Stone) and Eccles Pike (but not necessarily in that order!)  Approximate distance 9.5 miles (15k) depending on the route chosen.

Starting and finishing at the Old Hall Inn, Whitehough, Chinley SK23 6EJ.

Parking, Bag Drop (at your own risk), Toilets, Registration, Start, Finish, Food & Drink all at or near the pub.

Can be done solo, in a pair, or as a family / friends group of 3 or more.  Family and friends groups are positively encouraged - youngsters aged 0-17 go for FREE but must be accompanied by a fee paying responsible parent or guardian over 21.  Dogs are welcome, but must be on a lead and under control at all times.

Registration will open from 830am until 11am.

Walkers must start between 830am and 10am.  Runners must start between 10am and 11am.  You must be back at the finish by 1pm at the latest.  Please start earlyish if you expect to take the whole time limit.

(You can also choose to do just one, two or all three of the peaks, and you will still get a result, though you have to do all three to be in with a chance of the fastest time prizes).

On the day, you will be issued with a waterproof OS Explorer map extract showing the 3 peaks checkpoints.  You must decide which routes to take using only legitimate rights of way.  A PDF copy of the event map can be found by clicking on the Orange Final Details button on this event listing.

Event timing will be done using the MapRun app on your smartphone, Garmin or Apple Watch, S-punching at the Start, Finish and each of the three summit checkpoints.  You will need the course loaded on the MapRun app, and a well-charged phone (which you are required to carry for safety purposes).

There will be prizes for the fastest male and female, plus spot prizes and awards for light hearted things such as brightest clothing, biggest navigational blunder, and significant acts of kindness etc!

Your entry fee INCLUDES a Meat or Veggie Chilli Bowl & Bread which will be served back at the pub after you have finished from midday.

If you wish to have a more substantial Sunday lunch after you have finished then you are advised to book a table in advance directly with old-hall-inn.co.uk

The Old Hall Inn Chinley is conveniently located just off the A6 between Whaley Bridge & Chapel-en-le-Frith.  Within 35 mins drive from Macclesfield, Buxton, Bakewell, Castleton, Hope, Hathersage, Glossop, New Mills, Marple, Hazel Grove, Poynton etc.

The pub is just 1k walk from Chinley Train Station which is well served (even on a Sunday) by trains from Manchester Piccadilly to Chinley and all stations in between.

Hope you will come along and give this fun challenge a go.
