The Source to Sea Trail is a bikepacking adventure by gravel or mountain bike into the heart of Yorkshire. It is a unique and inspiring long distance circular route, 909kms long with 12,950 meters of climbing, that connects the network of old trails that weave their way across Yorkshire on the ridge of high ground where 10 rivers such as the Calder, Aire, Wharf, Ure, Nidd, Swale and Esk have their source.

The trail starts in the center of Hebden Bridge and within a mile you are on bridleways over Pennine moors and heading north to gravel tracks through the Dales.  We pass along the moors at the head of Wharfedale, Littondale, Nidderdale, Wensleydale and Swaledale and into villages such as Keld, Muker and past the Dales Bike Center.

Then it's onto Richmond and over the Hambleton hills, up to a fine stretch of the Yorkshire coast between Whitby and Scarborough before returning via gravel tracks on the North York Moors and country B roads across the Vale of York into the center of York and then out towards the Humber Estuary where we cross the world's longest cycle path on a suspension bridge to return to Hebden Bridge via 'B' roads, greenways and bridleways across the high moors.

Included in entry:

GPX file - A field tested gpx file will be sent to your email address four weeks prior to the event.

GPS Tracker Page - Riders will use an event page on an established ‘dot watching’ platform to upload their personal GPS tracker ‘dot’ and so enable event officials and others to monitor their progress and establish their ride time. If a rider does not have their own GPS tracker we can arrange hire of one.

Event Hub -  We will have a hub in Hebden Bridge where riders gather, sign on and fuel up on tea/coffee and home made flapjacks (other options available).

Starting line - In Hebden Bridge, behind Blazing Saddles bike shop, 7am.

Badge - Every rider on the starting line will receive a cloth badge made in Leeds embroidered with the Yorkshire Divide logo. It is customary to hand a badge at the end of an event but for this event we are reversing the norm.

After event social - On Thursday 30th May we gather in an ace coffee shop in the center of Hebden to share stories and plan new adventures.
