The 2nd Wessex Chawton Challenge

EVENT: A challenge event for walkers and runners in the heart of Hampshire with a choice of routes: 30 miles in 10 hours or 20 miles in 8 hours, starting from Chawton House Barn.
- The 30-mile route goes to East Worldham before it turns south to Selborne, Shoulder of Mutton Hill and Steep before turning north via Colemore and East Tisted back to Chawton.
- The 20-mile route follows the same route as far as Empshott Green where it turns west to re-join the 30-mile route at Lodge Farm and north back to Chawton.
- Refreshments are available at selected checkpoints. A selection of hot & cold food will be available at the finish for all entrants. (Bring your own mug for use at the designated refreshment stops)
- Full route information will be available on the Wessex website 5 days prior to the event in both pdf map and gpx file formats, although there won’t be a written route description for this event.

Start Time for the 20-mile walkers & runners at 8:00, with registration from 7:30 to 7:59

SAFETY: All entrants must follow the route provided checking in at all checkpoints. All retirees must inform an event official. Event Marshals are authorised to retire anyone failing to comply with the event rules or who in their opinion is unfit to continue or unable to complete within the set time limit.
EQUIPMENT: All entrants should wear or carry waterproof clothing and be appropriately dressed for walking or running. You must carry with you a suitable map, (electronic versions are acceptable), or a GPS device with the route uploaded. Bring your own mug which will be required for drinks; before, during and after the event.
You must carry sufficient food and drink with you.
Only checkpoints 2, 4 and 6 will offer cold drinks and a limited supply of light snacks.
ENTRIES: Under 18’s are restricted to the 20-mile route and must be accompanied at all times by a parent or guardian. No entries on the Day.
GENERAL INFORMATION: No dogs are allowed, except Assistance dogs.
COVID 19: All information provided is provisional and subject to change based on the appropriate UK Government’s guidelines. Last-minute alterations may be necessary to comply with changes to Covid regulations.
