The Kong Mini Mountain Marathon series 2023 comprises of three x 4 hour fell running & navigation score events in the Peak District, Lake District and North Wales. Best 2 results count towards a final league score with great prizes. New for 2023: We are now also offering a linear course option where you have to run & navigate a route of check points we have selected for you. The distance and elevation covered will vary per event but will be between the 10-20 km and 500-1000m.
Each event is a challenging and testing event across moorland, fell or mountainous terrain. As it is a score event everybody can set out a route that matches their ability. Strong Walkers are welcome as well.
The second round in the 2023 series will be held in the Peak District. The race is from Bradfield village hall onto Bradfield, Derwent and Howden moors. A beautiful area with deep valleys and beautiful views over the upper Derwent valley. The terrain varies a lot, but in general is very runnable.
Registration opens at 7:30 am on the day. Start anytime between 08:15 and 10:00 am. Try to arrive at registration at least 30 minutes before you intend to run. At the start line you will be give a waterproof map and a control description / value sheet. The course remains open until 3:00 pm.
After the race there is plenty of time to share your stories with your fellow competitors over a hearty lunch with homemade soup and cakes.
