Event Disclaimer / Terms and ConditionsT's & C's

I accept the following terms for my own entry. I also accept the terms on behalf of any other participants I am entering in this event, all of whom have been provided with a copy of these terms and accept them.

I have read and agree to the Rules of the Event and to observe the Countryside Code at all times. I confirm that I am in good health and have no medical condition that may cause undue concern or inconvenience to others. I believe that I have sufficient knowledge, experience, equipment and navigational skills to take part in a long-distance walk. In particular, I and people I have been in close contact with have not recently been diagnosed or show any Covid-19 symptoms and are not awaiting test results or are self-isolating. I confirm that I participate at my own risk and that no liability is accepted by the organisers for any injury, damage or loss sustained by me during or after the event, or in connection with the event.

General Rules:

  1. Entrants agree to be bound by the rules; in all circumstances event officials’ decisions are final.
  2. Entrants below the age of 18 (on the day of the Event) are permitted subject to a) confirmation from the Event Secretary (with any additional necessary conditions) and b) parental consent, if appropriate.
  3. Time limits and checkpoint closing times will be enforced.
  4. Entrants must follow the prescribed route (without mechanical assistance) and ensure that their arrival at checkpoints is noted by marshals.
  5. Entrants who are inadequately equipped according to the prevailing conditions may be disqualified. Entrants are required to carry spare food, drink, drinking receptacle, and personal first aid items.
  6. All entrants must carry the route description. Maps in electronic format will be allowed provided durability and adequate power supply can be demonstrated if requested by a marshal.
  7. Entrants wishing to retire between checkpoints and make their own way back, should notify the event organisers immediately by calling the emergency phone number shown on the route description.
  8. Entrants wishing to switch to another distance should notify marshals at a checkpoint.
  9. Entrants who envisage that they will arrive at a checkpoint after its stated closing time, should notify event organisers as soon as possible by calling the emergency phone number shown on the route description.
  10. Only if the event is cancelled due to future Covid (or similar) restrictions, or extreme weather-related issues, will any Entry Fee be refunded – with any refund being subject to an administration / booking fee.
