Event Regulations

Refunds

No Refunds will be given. No transfers, without prior knowledge of The Event Organiser, will be allowed. 

Rules and regulations

* Competitors must be 18 years of age on the day of The Event to participate.

* Competitors will be responsible for the roadworthiness of their own cycle.

* All Competitors are covered by third party insurance for the duration of the event. If you wish cover for personal injury you must make your own arrangements. The organisation is covered for civil liability.

* The start will be organised in such a way as to minimise ‘bunch racing’.

* You must obey all Highway Code Rules. You are requested to ride in single file where appropriate and no more than 2 abreast at any time. Please be aware of your fellow cyclists and other traffic. Please indicate your intention to stop or change direction.

* You may not deviate from the official route. Please be aware the mountain element of the 2020 event WILL NOT be marked/flagged. Maps will be provided in the Race Pack and an overview map will be on display in the Registration Area. A good standard of navigation will be required to complete the course safely. Competitors must appreciate the potential seriousness of being in the mountains in bad/poor visibility. Volunteer marshalls will be placed around both the bike and mountain elements. A kit check will be undertaken prior to the Event. The minimum kit MUST be taken on the mountain element - this maybe checked and anyone found not having this, will be subject to a time penalty. A kit list is available on the website. All volunteers and staff involved in the event will be clearly identifiable.

* All Competitors must wear a safety-approved cycling helmet complying with ANSI Z90/4 or SNELL standards. All Competitors are recommended to carry bike tools and replacement inner tubes.

* You may not use your mobile phone while riding. You must stop at the side of the road if you need to make or receive a call.

* No 'drafting' is permitted during the Bike element.

* You may not use any type of portatble music player. 

* Competitors Official Event Number, issued at registration, must be displayed on the Competitors front for identification purposes.

* The Event will only be cancelled, re-routed or stopped for reasons of safety. If conditions become dangerous, the Organisers will endeavour to provide an alternative route. Entry fees, however, are not refundable.

* Organisers will endeavour to provide fluids at the designated Transition Area, however we cannot guarantee supplies will be available at all times and urge Competitors to only take what they need and be mindful of the needs of those following behind.

* Mobile support vehicles in the form of cars or motorbikes are strictly forbidden and will lead to disqualification. There will be a Support Vehicle following the Bike Element of The Event.

* You must complete the course within a prescribed time to be classified as a finisher. There will be a specified control point on the course. Competitors who fail to reach this point within a stated time will be withdrawn from The Event on Health & Safety grounds. This decision, which will be final, will be made by The Event Organiser
