The Big Dipper Half Marathon

I accept the following terms for my own entry. I also accept the terms on behalf of any other participants I am entering in this event, all of whom have been provided with a copy of these terms and accept them:

I declare that the information on this form is complete and correct. I understand and agree that I participate in this event at my own risk and that I must rely on my own ability in dealing with all hazards.  I am aware that the function of the marshals is only to indicate direction and that I must decide if the movement is safe.

I agree that no liability whatsoever shall be attached to the organiser, promoter, promoting club, meeting sponsor(s) or member of the organising club in respect of any injury, loss or damage suffered by me on or by reason of the event, however caused.

I accept that entries are non-refundable, but I have the ability to transfer my place manually until 10 days before the event.

If the event is cancelled, for whatever reason, I accept I will not receive a refund. The organisers will try to restage the event at a later date, but this may not be possible.

Please understand that your entry fee is invested in the cost of staging the event, including timing systems, traffic management, first aid, and administration. A lot of these costs are paid months ahead of the event.

We cannot offer deferred entries to next year's event.

Please do not give your number to another runner without the formal transfer using SI Entries. Anybody found to have done this would be disqualified without refund.

This is to ensure that all runners are accounted for and the organisers have the information they need in the event of an emergency.

Duplicate entries made in genuine error will be refunded in full.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel applications, including duplicate applications, or to alter the date of the event, the course route or distance.

Runners are not permitted to take part in the event without an official race number.

Prizes will only be given in male and female categories.

There is a three hour cut off for runners. After this time, we ask you to run on the pavement/side of the road and  we cannot guarantee a finishing time. Road closures will be lifted and marshalls will be stood down. 

Runners cannot participate with animals or pushchairs.

Discounted UK Athletics Affiliated entries will only be available to athletic club members with paid up affiliation to their home country athletics association (England Athletics, Welsh Athletics, Scottish Athletics or Athletics Northern Ireland for the current competition year 2022/23 at time of entry.

I consent to publication of my name, club, race category, race number, finishing time and race position in race pre-entry and results lists.

I consent to my photo being used in promotional material in print, online, broadcast, and on social media. I acknowledge these images may also be used by third parties outside of the organisers' control, including by members of the public, fellow runners, or others in coverage of the day.
