I have read the event description on the website and I agree to abide by the terms and conditions for participation. In particular I accept that:

Hillwalking is an activity with a danger of personal injury, death and loss of or damage to property. Participants must be be over 18 years old and must be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions and involvement. Neither Lagan Valley Orienteers, nor any of its individual members, can be held responsible for any injury, loss or damage (to individuals or to property) howsoever sustained by participation in the event. The club reserves the right to refuse entry to the walk to anyone deemed unprepared for the event on the day and to force retirement from the event of anyone breaching either the rules of the event or the NI Countryside Code.

Equipment

Participants must have a minimum of kit as detailed here on the website. These items are required regardless of the weather forecast as mountain conditions in Britain and Ireland can change dramatically with little warning. Kit checks will be done at registration and anyone missing items may be refused a Start without recompense.

Course Changes and Retirements

Participants must visit all the required checkpoints in the order stipulated but are free to choose their own route between them. Some checkpoints will have cut-off times for safety; participants failing to make these in time will be retired from the event and must return directly to the Finish. In the event of extreme weather conditions or other circumstances beyond our control we may modify or shorten the route at short notice including on the day. Participants will respect any such decision without complaint or recompense.

Behaviour

Participants will behave in a respectful and courteous fashion to the organisers, marshalls,  fellow participants and other users of the hills throughout the event. Any inappropriate behaviour or abuse will result in immediate expulsion from the event (without recompense) and may be banned from future events.

Withdrawals, Changes, and Cancellation

Withdrawals are allowed via email to us up until Sunday 24th July, and refunds will be offered as detailed on our website. There will be no refunds after that date. Name and start time changes can also be made via SI Entries (at no charge) but please be sure to amend all the required details. In the event of cancellation, we will refund £30 of each entry fee.

We will not be liable for any incidental costs incurred by the Participant, including (but not limited to) travel, accommodation, food, or equipment.
