I accept the following terms for my entry. 

I declare that the information on this form is complete and correct. I understand and agree that I participate in this event at my own risk. 

I agree that no liability shall be attached to the activity provider, staff or helpers in respect of any injury, loss or damage suffered by me on or by reason of the event, however caused.  

First Light Active endeavour to provide a safe activity in the practical outdoor setting. Operating procedures will be in line with the standards outlined by the governing body at the time of the race and will be communicated to all participants by email.

Race Rules

  1. Runners have 6 hours / 12 hours to complete as many laps as they can. The route will be marked, you must stick to the route and register in with the checkpoint every time you pass.
  2. Any runner who is, in the opinion of the race directors or marshals, unfit to continue will be withdrawn from the race. THEIR DECISION IS FINAL.  
  3. You are responsible for your own kit choice, bear in mind the weather conditions on the day (High Ashes is very exposed). Due to the lapped nature of the event, mandatory kit is kept to a minimum, see the kit list below.
  4. You must act on any marshals instructions at road crossings.
  5. Retiring from the event - return to the checkpoint to retire. Once you retire from the event, your race number must be surrendered and you will not be allowed to continue. 
  6. Do not drop any litter. 
  7. Respect other users of the countryside, fellow competitors and marshals. 
  8. No climbing over fences, please use the stiles/gates. 
  9. No dogs allowed (the route makes extensive use of farmland). 
  10. Runners must be aged 18 or over on race day  

Mandatory kit (must be carried)

  1. Waterproof Jacket with taped seams.
  2. Mobile phone with race director’s number (07741 488737) in contacts.

Suggested kit

  1. 400ml of fluid as a minimum.
  2. Personal nutrition for a day on the trail. Checkpoint will have individually wrapped flapjack / granola / bananas etc (you can also provide a ziplock food bag to restock your food supply at the checkpoint mid course.)
  3. Mug or cup for hot drinks at checkpoint / finish 
  4. Hat/buff.
  5. Gloves

Refunds / Transfers

Refunds less £5 admin fee will be possible up until 19th February 2022.
Transfers will be permitted up until 11th March 2022.
The nature of the event also offers a high degree of mobility - it can be moved back a month or more as conditions at the time dictate If the organisers are forced to cancel the event for any reason, a new date will be established and all entries will be carried
forward. If no alternative date is available, all entries will be carried forward to the next year.
