Amberaid 30 Trail Race

  1. Runners have 9 hours to complete the Amberaid 30. You must pass through all checkpoints and self clip points within the stated time limit. (Miss a CP or self clip = DNF)
  2. Any runner who is, in the opinion of the race directors or marshals, unfit to continue will be withdrawn from the race. THEIR DECISION IS FINAL 
  3. Kit check, you will carry the mandatory kit at all times during the race (see below)
  4. You must log in with the marshals at each checkpoint. 
  5. You must notify a marshal at the first instance if you decide to retire from the event. Once you retire from the event, your race number must be surrendered and you will not be allowed to continue.
  6. Do not drop any litter. 
  7. Respect other users of the countryside, fellow competitors and marshals. 
  8. No climbing over fences, please use the stiles/gates. 
  9. No dogs allowed (the route makes extensive use of farmland). 
  10. Runners must be aged 18 or over on race day  

 Mandatory kit 

  1. Waterproof Jacket with taped seams.
  2. Head Torch (it can get dark in the later woods!)
  3. 500ml of water / energy drink as a minimum.
  4. Sufficient nutrition for a day on the trail (you can also provide a ziplock food bag to restock your food supply at the checkpoint mid course.)
  5. Hand Sanitiser.
  6. Whistle.
  7. Mobile phone with race director’s number (07741 488737) in contacts.
  8. Map of route (gpx file will also be available from https://firstlightactive.com/
  9. Hat/buff.
  10. Drinking Cup (No plastic cups provided at checkpoints)
  11. Gloves (to reduce contamination risk from shared surfaces ie kissing gates as well as warmth)
  12. Face mask for pre and post run (and any further COVID considerations that may be in place at the time - this will be reviewed)

I agree that no liability shall be attached to the activity provider, staff or helpers in respect of any injury, loss or damage suffered by me on or by reason of the event, however caused.  

First Light Active endeavour to provide a safe activity in the practical outdoor setting. Operating procedures have been adapted to include elements to minimise catching or transmitting COVID-19. The format is adapted so that it incorporates good hygiene practices and working safely at a social distance. Due to the current 1 metre plus social distancing requirement, this event is limited to 100 participants. Each participant is asked to bring their own hand sanitiser, gloves and face mask (bandana /buff type covering is ok). Further details about the race start / distancing / finish are included on the website.  

Refunds / Transfers

Refunds less booking fee will be permissible up until 23rd September. Substitutions are available until the race closes (15th October) - we will allow you to transfer your entry to another runner.

By way of offering further reassurance to clients, if the course is unable to go ahead because of further COVID-19 restrictions you will be able to get a refund (less booking fee) or transfer. Any client experiencing COVID-19 symptoms in the lead up to the race should not run and will be able to claim a refund - simply communicate the situation by email BEFORE the 22nd October. (Refunds are less the booking fee).
