General

While the website attempts to be as accurate as possible, it should not be relied upon as being comprehensive or error-free. The website is regularly updated and changes are made.

Law

The Law of England and Wales shall govern this contract. Any proceedings arising out of or in connection with this contract maybe be brought exclusively in England.

Privacy Policy

WMD Events Ltd respect your personal information and privacy. We do not sell or disclose your information to third parties.

We will hold information supplied by you or other members of your party on SiEntries system for use in connection with your current booking and may keep you updated with future events. If you do not wish us to hold your information on our system after the event you have entered has ended, please contact us by email.

Photography and filming may occasionally take place for marketing purposes. Your involvement with WMD Events Ltd implies your consent to the use of photographs of you while attending one of our events. If you prefer that such photographs or films not used, please let us know and we would be more than happy to oblige. We cannot guarantee other participant will not take photograph In which you may feature.

Event Safety

The following event rules and guidelines are intended to help ensure the safety of all participants, to meet the requirements of local Authority permits and to be compliant with UK Athletics and Trail Running Association regulations for participant performance records and event liability.

Each participant must agree to the disclaimer and Terms and Conditions before participating in the event. All participants take part at their own risk and a disclaimer waiving all claims against WMD Events Ltd and any party acting on its behalf must be completed by all entrants

In the event of Covid Guidance needing to be implemented, no water station will be available and it is highly recommended that participants bring their own in a suitable container.

Refunds, Deferrals and Exchanges

Participants race number bibs are specific personal identifiers and may not be exchanged with or transferred or sold to any other person. Transfers between runners can only be done through WMD Events Ltd and the SiEntries system within the deadline of transfer displayed on the website, 4 weeks before event day.

All entry fees are non-refundable, however names changes are allowed up to a 4 weeks before Raceday, online via the SiEntries system. We do offer deferments to future events if the race has been postponed or in exceptional circumstances (at WMD Events Ltd Discretion) and any deferments must be auctioned in the timescale provided. We reserve the right to charge an Admin Fee of £10.00 for refunded entries which is at WMD Events Ltd discretion.

Each entrant must have their own account with SiEntries to enter an event.

An email address is required for all entries and all Raceday correspondence will be sent via email. A separate email address for each participant is required.

Age Limits

To register for a WMD Events Ltd event you must be 16 years of age on Raceday to compete in a 10k and 8 years of age on the day of the race for the 5k distance. If you are under 11 you must run with an adult who is classed as a legal guardian.

If entering someone under 11, I confirm I am the parent/guardian and I am registering on their behalf - I will be running with this entrant at all times and take full responsibility for their participation in the event. I understand there are live roads and other hazards on the route.

All participants must provide their full name and details of any health problems or medication upon entry and emergency contact details.

All participants confirm that they are happy for their names and any footage or photographs taken during their participation to be used to publicise and to be used to publicise any WMD Events Ltd event.

Registration closure date is set and announced when an event opens for entry. However, if race event is full prior to this date, the registration process will automatically close.

Except where otherwise expressly stated in these terms and conditions, WMD Events Ltd regret that we cannot accept liability or pay any compensation where our contractual obligations are prevented or affected by, or otherwise suffer any damage or loss as a result of force majeure. In our terms and conditions, ‘force majeure’ means any event which we or the supplier of the service(s) could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid. Such events may include (whether actual or threatened) war, riot, civil strife, terrorist activity, industrial dispute, natural or nuclear disaster, technical problems, with transport, closures of airports, ports or airspace, changes of schedules by airlines, adverse weather conditions, epidemics, health risks and pandemics, fire, closed or congested airports or ports or similar events outside our control or the control of our suppliers.

Participants are responsible for their recognition and understanding of event signage and symbols relating to participant maps, facilities and direction. The course is fully signposted and marshalled.

WMD Events Ltd events are organised guided by UK Athletics rules and therefore mp3 players or other devices plugged into the ear are not advised whilst running for reasons of Health and Safety for both your and other competitors. We strongly advise against the wearing of these devices. When you wear such a device you are unable to hear other competitors, cars, bicycles or marshals instructions. At road sections the devices must be unplugged or risk disqualification from the race.

Medical personnel authorised by the event may examine any participant who appears in distress. If in the sole opinion of authorised medical personnel it is in the best interest of the participant’s health and welfare, medical personnel may remove the participant from the event. Participants must retire at once from race if ordered to do so by a member of the event’s official staff, official medical staff, or any governmental authority, including fire and police officers.

All participants retiring from the race voluntarily MUST let the nearest marshal know their name and number. Any competitor not providing this will be liable for any search and rescue costs incurred.

Participants are responsible and assume liability for any and all medical expenses incurred as a result of training for and/or participation in the event, including but not limited to ambulance transport, hospital stays, physician and pharmaceutical goods/services.

Event officials reserve the right to delay, cancel or suspend the race due to inclement weather in accordance with emergency protocol on severe emergencies and/or inclement weather. A partial refund will be issued in these circumstances coving the organisers fixed costs. This includes transportation to the event including coaches, trains or ferries

All participants are assigned a chip timing device – this is usually secured around the participants wrist

Participants must wear their assigned timing device continuously from start line to finish line, to receive an accurate finish time.

Official times for mass participants will be the electronic timing device time (chip time) from when the participant crosses the start line to the point where the participant crosses the finish line.

Participants found to be wearing more than one timing chip during the race will be disqualified and their results will not be recorded.

Participants must begin the event during the official recognised starting time in order to register an official course completion time

A full list of results will be published online, on the website www.wmdevents.co.uk within 24 hours following each race.

“I accept the following Terms for my entry. I also accept on behalf of any participants I am entering in this event, all of whom have been provided with a copy of these Terms and accept them.’

“The Participant will abide by the rules and will run at their own risk. I doing so, they accept that neither the sponsors, Organisers (WMD Events Ltd) or their helpers will become liable for any injury, loss, action or claim, however occasioned, resulting from this event”

In the event of any problems during the event, you must report it immediately to our representative on the run and failing satisfactory resolution of the problem; you should file a written report within 14 days of your return. No liability will be accepted for any complaint not reported to our representative at the time and intimated within 14 days thereafter.

No liability is taken for any loss, theft or damage of property in the case of using the event carpark and site.

We reserve the right to remove or replace any benefits in association with this run if we deem appropriate for any reason. We will notify participants of changes to benefits via email.
