I accept the following terms for my entry. 

I declare that the information on this form is complete and correct. I understand and agree that I participate in this event at my own risk. 

I agree that no liability shall be attached to the activity provider, staff or helpers in respect of any injury, loss or damage suffered by me on or by reason of the event, however caused.  

First Light Active endeavour to provide a safe activity in the practical outdoor setting. Operating procedures have been adapted to include elements to minimise catching or transmitting COVID-19. The format is adapted so that it incorporates good hygiene practices and working safely at a social distance. Due to the current 1 metre plus social distancing requirement, this event is limited to 60 participants. Each participant is asked to bring their own hand sanitiser, gloves and face mask (bandana / buff type covering is ok). Further details about the race start / distancing / finish are included on the website.  

Race Rules

  1. Runners have 6 hours to complete as many laps as they can. The route will be marked, you must stick to the route and register in with the checkpoint every time you pass.
  2. Any runner who is, in the opinion of the race directors or marshals, unfit to continue will be withdrawn from the race. THEIR DECISION IS FINAL.  
  3. You will be responsible for your own kit check, and you will carry the mandatory kit at all times during the race (see below)
  4. You must act on any marshals instructions at road crossings.
  5. Retiring from the event - make every effort to return to the checkpoint to retire. Failing that you must notify a course marshal and we will shuttle you back. Once you retire from the event, your race number must be surrendered and you will not be allowed to continue. 
  6. Do not drop any litter. 
  7. Respect other users of the countryside, fellow competitors and marshals. 
  8. No climbing over fences, please use the stiles/gates. 
  9. No dogs allowed (the route makes extensive use of farmland). 
  10. Runners must be aged 18 or over on race day  

Mandatory kit 

  1. Waterproof Jacket with taped seams.
  2. 400ml of fluid as a minimum.
  3. Personal nutrition for a day on the trail. Checkpoint will have individually wrapped flapjack / granola / bananas etc (you can also provide a ziplock food bag to restock your food supply at the checkpoint mid course.)
  4. Hand Sanitiser.
  5. Mobile phone with race director’s number (07741 488737) in contacts.
  6. Hat/buff.
  7. Gloves (to reduce contamination risk from shared surfaces ie kissing gates as well as warmth)
  8. Map of route (gpx file will also be available from https://firstlightactive.com/
  9. Face mask for pre and post run. 
  10. Mug or cup for hot drinks at checkpoint / finish 

Refunds / Transfers

By way of offering further reassurance to clients, if the event is unable to go ahead because of further COVID-19 restrictions you will be able to get a refund (less booking fee). Any client experiencing COVID-19 symptoms in the lead up to the race should not run and will be able to claim a refund - simply communicate the situation by email BEFORE the 19th June 2021 (Refunds are less the booking fee). The nature of the event also offers a high degree of mobility - it can be moved back a month or more as conditions at the time dictate.
