Event Disclaimer / Terms and ConditionsT's & C's

I accept the following terms for my own entry. I also accept the terms on behalf of any other participants I am entering in this event, all of whom have been provided with a copy of these terms and accept them:

I declare that the information on this form is complete and correct. I understand that this race is held in accordance, and that I have familiarised myself, with both the Rules and Safety Requirements of the FRA. I confirm that I am aware of the Organiser’s information and requirements in connection with this race (see www.minimountainmarathon.co.uk). I confirm that I am suitably physically fit for the event, have navigational skills appropriate for this race and will carry throughout the race any equipment specified either by the FRA Safety Requirements or by the organiser. I accept the hazards involved in fell running and acknowledge that I am entering and running this race at my own risk. Other than the Organiser’s liability for causing death or personal injury by negligence, I confirm that I understand that the Organiser accepts no liability to me for any loss or damage of any nature to me or my property arising out of my participation in this race.

Weather conditions/postponements/entry fees: in the event of inclement weather (particularly the chance of thunderstorm etc) we will do our utmost to run the events but safety will not be compromised under any circumstances. Should we have to postpone an event all entries and fees will be transferred to a re-scheduled date; if you cannot make this date then entry fees will be held over as a credit towards future Mini Mountain Marathons OR refunds will be given less a 25% admin fee (to cover our ongoing event costs). We don’t provide refunds for any other circumstances.

Cancellations or transfers for injuries or other reasons: We don’t provide refunds and cancellations for any circumstances. Up to two weeks before the race it is possible to request a transfer to a future event in the same series (same year). After two weeks we can not honour transfers as most of the cost for the race will have been made.

If you hire a dibber from us you are responsible to return it unharmed. If you loose a dibber we will have to charge you the replacement cost of one - £30. If you break a dibber we will charge half the cost of a replacement - £15.

The category you fall in is determined based on your age on the first of January or the oldest runner in your pair. We also have an Under 23 category (based on the youngest runner in a pair), but the SiEntries system cannot apply more than one age rule. Therefore please let us know at registration and we will change the category for you.

  • I confirm I have no COVID-19 symptoms and do not have to quarantine
  • I confirm I will follow all COVID-19 measures that the Race Organiser has put in place
  • I accept the hazards inherent in fell running and acknowledge that I am entering and running this race at my own risk.
  • I confirm that I am aware of the rules imposed on me by the Race Organiser and that I will comply with them.
  • I confirm that I have read and will comply with, the FRA “Requirements for Runners”.
  • I acknowledge and agree that I am responsible for determining whether I have the skills equipment and fitness to participate in this event.
  • I accept that neither the Race Organiser nor the Fell Runners Association shall be liable to me for any injury, loss or damage of any nature to me or my property arising out of my participation in this race (other than in respect of death or personal injury as a result of their negligence).
  • I consent to publication of my name, club, race category, race number, finishing time and race position in race pre-entry and results lists.
  • I confirm that I have the navigational skills appropriate for this race and will carry throughout the race any equipment specified either by FRA Safety requirements or by the organiser
  • I accept that the Race Organiser may use photographic or video equipment to record the race and use for marketing purposes.

There is a set rule if you have difficulties. You are responsible for your own safety and you MUST be carrying and wearing all the compulsory equipment as laid out in the event rules. You MUST inform a marshal or race official if you have retired and you MUST return & download your dibber. Failure to comply will lead to instant event disqualification, in addition to any rescue fees incurred. If you are not back by one hour after closure of the course, we will inform Mountain Rescue. Solo runners are at particular risk. Please be extra careful and consider the risks to yourself and to others who may need to rescue you. If you or a member of your team is injured, be sensible and assess the whole situation. Use your whistle to summon assistance from other competitors. Put the casualty in a survival bag or shelter while someone, preferable two people, go for help. Someone should stay with the casualty at all times, although if you cannot summon help you may have to leave them on their own. Make a careful note of the grid reference, nearby features, time and nature of the injuries. Telephone the 24 hour emergency numbers shown on your map and ask for a suitable message to be passed to the Mountain Rescue team. If you cannot contact the event emergency numbers, please dial 112 (or 999 if that doesn’t work) and ask for Mountain Rescue.
