Great Wilderness Challenge 2021

By registering for this event I confirm:

• I am in good health and physically capable of completing the event
• I agree to abide by the rules of the event
• I understand that no liability can be accepted by the organisers or land-owners for any injury, illness or loss sustained by me before, during or after the event
• I pledge to raise sponsorship money, in accordance with the purpose of the GWC, for the benefit of the named charities

Other Event Rules

1. Entrants under 18 on 14th August 2021 must have consenting signature of parent/guardian
2. Minimum age for entry to 13 and 25 mile run is 18 years on day of event
3. Minimum age for entry to 10k run is 16 years on day of event
4. Entrants must be physically fit and experienced walkers/runners
5. The Great Wilderness Challenge is primarily a charity fundraising event – as such all entrants must pledge to raise minimum £100 sponsorship.   (12- 17 years £50)
6. Equipment: All walkers must carry wind/waterproof cagoule and overtrousers, spare sweater, suitable footwear for rough terrain, emergency food, first aid kit

All runners must carry wind/waterproof full body protection as specified in SAF rules. Spot kit checks may be carried out at the start.  Entrants inadequately equipped will be refused entry.

7. The Country Code must be observed
8. All checkpoints must be visited. 25 Mile Walkers Please Note– Cut-off time is 5pm at Kernsary.  This allows an approx. time of 9.5 hours to complete the whole route.  If you feel unable to complete in this time please consider entering one of the smaller events.  Anyone not at Kernsary by 5pm will be offered transport back to Poolewe or the option to continue at their own risk.  No responsibility can be taken by the organisers for entrants who decide to continue on their own
9.  Children under the age of 12yrs must be accompanied by a named adult who is entirely responsible for them.  No liability can be accepted by the GWC for their safety
10. The organisers reserve the right to alter the rules, or change the route if they consider it necessary
11. The organisers’ decision is final in all matters relating to the Great Wilderness Challenge 2021
