Race Rules

  1. Runners have 9 hours to complete the Spire Ultra. You must pass through ALL the checkpoints (6 in total) within the stated time limit. (Miss a CP = DNF)
  2. Kit checks will be made at registration and you will not be permitted to compete without the mandatory items (kit list below).
  3. Any runner who is, in the opinion of the race directors or marshals, unfit to continue will be withdrawn from the race. THEIR DECISION IS FINAL.
  4. You must log in with the marshals at each checkpoint.
  5. You must notify a marshal at the first instance if you decide to retire from the event. Once you retire from the event, your race number must be surrendered and you will not be allowed to continue.
  6. You must carry ALL items marked as mandatory from the equipment list (below) for the duration of the event.
  7. Do not drop any litter.
  8. Respect other users of the countryside, fellow competitors and marshals.
  9. No climbing over fences, please use the stiles/gates.
  10. No dogs allowed (the route makes extensive use of farmland).
  11. Runners must be aged 18 or over on race day

Mandatory Kit Requirements

  • Minimum of 500ml water/sports drink
  • Emergency food supply
  • Whistle
  • Waterproof jacket
  • Decent trainers appropriate for a variety of trail conditions
  • Map and route description
  • Mobile phone – fully charged

Bear in mind the weather forecast on the day, we would additionally recommend;

Recommended Kit

  • GPS
  • Buff or similar
  • Hat and gloves
  • extra warm layer
  • waterproof trousers

Refunds / Transfers

  • Refunds less £5 admin fee will be possible up until 9th April 2021.
  • Transfers will be permitted up until 5th May 2021.

Covid-19 Peace of Mind Policy

If at any stage in the lead up to the event you suffer from these symptoms, please contact us before 7th May 2021 and we’ll happily roll your entry over to 2022.

  • a high temperature
  • a new, continuous cough
  • a loss of, or change to, your sense of smell or taste
  • a positive Covid-19 test result.
  • You must self isolate because of any of the above in your household or bubble.
  • You are forced to quarantine because of countries/ areas you’ve returned from.
  • You are extremely clinically vulnerable, even if none of the above apply to you.

Likewise, if you find yourself in local restrictions that are unlikely to be lifted by race date, please contact us before 7th May for your entry to be rolled over.
