PARTICIPANT DECLARATION AND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RISK
By ticking this box and entering Granite Peaks Ultras 2027, I confirm that:

 

1. Risk

I understand that mountain running is a hazardous activity. The courses cross remote, rough and steep open mountain, often away from paths, and conditions can change quickly, including low cloud, rain, wind and cold. I understand there is a risk of injury, illness, hypothermia and, in rare cases, death, and I take part at my own risk.

2. Fitness and health

I am physically fit, adequately trained, and experienced enough to complete my chosen race safely. I have no medical condition that would make it unsafe for me to take part. If in doubt, I have sought medical advice. I will tell the organisers about any relevant medical condition on my entry form.

3. Navigation and self-sufficiency

I am able to navigate using the GPX route in poor visibility, and I accept responsibility for following the correct course and looking after myself in the mountains.

4. Kit

I will carry all mandatory kit throughout the race. I understand I may be refused entry to the start, or disqualified, if I do not.

5. Rules and instructions

I will follow the race rules and all instructions from the race directors, marshals, first aid and safety teams. I accept that they may withdraw me from the race at any time if they believe I am unable to continue safely, or if I miss a cut-off.

6. Withdrawal

If I withdraw from the race, I will tell the organisers before leaving the course.

7. Medical treatment

I consent to receiving first aid or medical treatment if needed during the event, and to my emergency contact being notified.

8. Accuracy of information

The information I have provided is accurate. I will run only under my own name and race number, and I will not transfer my number without approval from the organisers.

9. Cancellation and changes

I understand that the organisers may change the course, shorten the race, or cancel or postpone the event because of weather, safety concerns or circumstances outside their control. Refunds will follow the published refund policy.

10. Photography and tracking

I consent to photographs and video taken at the event being used to promote Granite Peaks Ultras. I agree to my location being tracked by GPS during the race for safety purposes, and to my name and results being published.

11. Data

I consent to my personal data being used to organise and deliver the event, and shared with the organisers’ timing, tracking, safety, and licensing partners where necessary.

12. Anti-doping

I confirm that I have read and agree to the following UK Athletics anti-doping declaration:

“All entrants shall be deemed to have made him/herself/themselves familiar with, and agreed to be bound by the UKA Anti-Doping Rules and to submit to the authority of UK Anti-Doping in the application and enforcement of the Anti-Doping Rules. The UKA Anti-Doping Rules apply to entrants participating in the sport of Athletics, for 12 months from date of entry, whether or not the entrant is a citizen of, or resident in, the UK.”
