WALK ENTRY CONDITIONS

THE SIX SHROPSHIRE SUMMITS CHALLENGE WALK IS A VERY STRENUOUS HILL WALK AND PARTIOPANTS TAKING PART DO SO ENTIRELY AT THEIR OWN RISK.

ENTRIES ARE ACCEPTED ON THE BASIS THAT ALL PARTICIPANTS AGREE TO ABIDE BY THE CONDITIONS OF THE WALK AND ARE UNDER THE CONTROL OF THE ORGANISERS.

1.     If you run, you’ll probably reach hills before our marshals.  Therefore please text 07793 509 308 to inform us you have passed through an unmanned station, so we can account for you.

2.     The organisers reserve the right to retire any person who, in the opinion of the organisers, is considered unfit to continue the walk.

3.     All walkers must check in and out at all checkpoints.

4.     Walkers will be prevented from continuing if, in the event of bad weather, protective clothing is not carried or the conditions on the summits may endanger the walkers or organisers.

5.     Walkers can only retire at ROADSIDE checkpoints, not on summits. If a support vehicle, other than those provided by the organiser's picks up a retiring walker, they must report
to the nearest Roadside checkpoint before leaving the area. These are checkpoints 4, 6, 7 and 9, (excluding Titterstone Clee). If a walker is not at his/her best and may not complete the walk they are strongly advised to retire prior to commencing the ascent of any of the summits.

6.

If a walker wishes to miss out ANY ROADSIDE CHECKPOINTS, the organisers must be informed at the previous summit, where dependent on the weather, permission will be granted. FAILURE to do so will mean immediate disqualification from continuing the walk.

7.

The Walk Tally provided must be carried throughout the walk, and produced on demand by the organisers. It will be stamped at each SUMMIT CHECKPOINT. FAILURE to get the tally stamped at each SUMMIT will disqualify you from obtaining the WALK CERTIFICATE.

8.

Walkers are reminded that they must follow the COUNTRY CODE especially regarding dogs, which must be kept under control at all times, and also the disposal of litter, containers for which are carried on all support vehicles.

9.     All walkers must stay on recognised footpaths at all times (especially on open heathland, and obey any legal signposted directions erected by landowners or their agents that may indicate temporary/permanent amendments to the marked footpaths.

10.   All walkers under 18 years of age must remain with their responsible adult at all times.

11.   A 'WALK REGISTER' donated by the Fire Service Sports and Athletics Association is maintained. If you complete the walk do not forget to sign it and please add any
comments. (The book is carried on the final support vehicle).
