TERMS & CONDITIONS OF ENTERING.

I agree to abide by the rules of this event namely:

1) The South Pennine 24 is open to all persons aged 18 or over on the day of the Event.

2) Entrants must NOT attend this event if they or a close contact has recently been diagnosed with or show any Covid-19 symptoms, are awaiting test results or are self-isolating under current Government guidance .

3) No Entries on the Day. Entries will close should the entry limit of 150 be reached. By entering I confirm that I am in good health, and have no medical condition that may cause concern or inconvenience to others. I confirm that I participate at my own risk and that no liability is accepted by the organisers for any injury, damage or loss sustained to me during or whilst travelling to and from the event.

4) Entry fee: LDWA Member £12 Non-member £22. Entry fees are non refundable, however the organiser reserves the right to cancel the event for any reason: in such circumstance entrants will receive a partial refund determined by the organiser less any non recoverable expenses & payment processing fees

5) The organisers reserve the right to refuse any entry and return the full fee. Discounted entry is available to LDWA members only & membership details will be verified. LDWA membership costs from £15 per year Jan-Dec, but join from 01 Oct & receive membership for the rest of 2022 plus the whole of 2023, so come & join us! 6) Entrants must register at the start from 0800 until 0900 to receive their tally and details of any route changes. There is no mass start : the time you register is your start time so set off immediately after registering . The route description will show checkpoint opening and closing times. Entrants must depart each checkpoint before the closing time. Anyone arriving or departing after the closing time will be retired by the marshals. All entrants to finish by 1730 (9 hour 30 minute limit)

8) This is a winter event across at times rugged, remote moorland where the weather conditions can suddenly change. All entrants must be suitably equipped & attired for the prevailing weather conditions & terrain. A mandatory kit list includes suitable footwear, waterproofs (top & trousers), LONG trousers must be worn, spare fleece, map (or GPS with spare batteries), compass, whistle, torch & emergency bivvy bag (not foil blanket). All entrants should have a face covering & hand sanitiser plus their own mug . 

9) Entrants must only retire at a checkpoint where transport to the finish will be arranged.  Entrants must NOT retire without advising the organiser

10) Entrants must carry a fully charged, switched on mobile at all times whilst participating on this event. The emergency number for Event HQ is 01457-873000 which should be saved to the list of contacts in the entrant’s phone carried during the event . If your phone rings during the event please answer as it could be the organisers trying to contact you .

11) All entrants must print off, bring with them & use a copy of the event route description as there will be no copies available at registration. A walked gpx file of the event route is also supplied, but this is a navigational aid & not a substitute for the written route description.  Entrants will need to self navigate: the route is not marked or taped except for a short section after Chew Reservoir towards Laddow Moss.

12) Any short notice updates will be displayed on the South Pennine group website (South Pennine 24 tab) & also advised to entrants by e mail via SiEntries using the email address given when entering.

DATA PROTECTION STATEMENT:

“I understand that the personal information submitted as part of this entry form will be held by the event organisers for a period of up to three years after the event is held for the purposes of managing this event only.  I further understand that photographs are likely to be taken at the event, which may be featured in Strider magazine or on LDWA websites.  In addition, I understand that Summary Information* may be published immediately and may be held in perpetuity for the purposes of providing a record of the event. I will have the right to request that all my personal Summary Information* is anonymised.”
