London City Races 2025

1 City = 3 Races = 1 Great Weekend of Orienteering

Join the 16th annual London City Race for a weekend of high quality orienteering across London.

  1. Day 1 - Greenwich Park - Friday 19th September - start the weekend with an early evening event in Greenwich Park. The Greenwich Meridian passes through the centre of the park where the Observatory is located. During your run you will cross between the western and eastern hemispheres several times. The park rises from north to south with a change of elevation of 30m from the lowest to the highest point. There is a steep slope up to the observatory with several spurs and re-entrants. The southern most higher part of the area is largely flat. The event centre for this day is at Richard The First, 52/54 Royal Hill, Greenwich, London, SE10 8RT which is a short distance from the start and the finish. Starts from 17:00 to 18:45 with courses closing promptly at 19:30 - All participants must have left the Park by 19:30 as it closes at 20:00 - please select a start time block to ensure that you will achieve this.  Further details can be found here: Greenwich Park
  2. Day 2 - City of London – Saturday 20th September – Take on the big challenge with a full distance urban event which returns to  an evolving area of former docks, offering an extensive, intricate mix of low-rise urban redevelopment plus parkland and waterfront spaces. There is minimal vehicle traffic due to its location in a bend of the Thames. Start times are from 10:00 to 13:00 for all courses. Based out of Decathlon, 9 Maritime Street, London SE16 7FU which will be within 800m of the start and the finish. Part of City Race Euro Tour series and the UK Urban Orienteering League. London City Race
  3. Day 3 - Hampstead Heath race - Sunday 21st September – Finish the weekend with a full range of courses at Hampstead Heath. Hampstead Heath is ancient hilly heathland to the north of London. The area is a mixture of woodlands and open areas with an extensive path network and provides a good orienteering challenge.  It forms one of the highest points in London. The Kenwood Estate is a former stately home on the northern boundary that is open to the public. Start Times from 10:30 to 12:30. The assembly area is in East Heath Road car park, postcode NW3 1TH    Further details and entry for this event is here: Hampstead Heath
