1 City = 3 Races = 1 Great Weekend of Orienteering
Join the 15th annual London City Race for a weekend of high quality orienteering across London.
Day 1 - Burgess Park - Friday 13th September - start the weekend with an early evening event in Burgess Park. The park is a typical urban parkland with a mix of tree cover and grasslands with an extensive path network, flower beds, a lake and a few buildings. The event centre for this day is at Trinity College Centre, Newent Close, London, SE15 6EF which is a short distance from the start and the finish. Starts from 17:00 to 18:45 with courses closing promptly at 19:30 - All participants must have left the Park by 19:30 as it closes at 20:00 - please select a start time block to ensure that you will achieve this. Day 2 - City of London – Saturday 14th September – Take on the big challenge with a full distance urban event which returns to the City of London and the Barbican Centre, with its multi levels, offering an extensive, intricate mix of alleys and urban parks inter mixed with the challenge of the Barbican Centre. Start times are from 10:00 to 13:00 for all courses. Based out of the City of London School for Girls, St Giles Terrace, Wood Street, London, EC2Y 8BB. Day 3 - Ultra sprint race - Sunday 15th September – Finish the weekend with an Ultra Sprint Race at Waterlow Park, Highgate Hill, London, N6 5HG - an urban parkland on a steep hillside with spectacular views over the city and is landscaped with ponds, a wide variety of trees, colourful borders and grassy slopes. Competitors will run three heats on courses of approximately 1km with a high density of controls, including sections in a specially constructed maze. There will then be a set of finals involving all competitors. This high intensity orienteering will provide a challenge to all competitors and is a great spectacle to watch. LOK Ultra Sprints
