The Bronze National Navigation Award is a practical hands-on award. It is aimed at people with no navigation experience whether you are new to the outdoors or have been relying on others, guidebooks or easy well-defined routes.

The Silver National Navigation Award develops the navigation skills acquired at the Bronze level. It adds skills required to navigate to features and places some distance from paths and tracks. It teaches accurate compass work. It will also teach you to select the suitable navigational techniques to cross open country.

Navigation for Runners and Mountain Marathons*

Would you like to enter a mountain marathon or self navigation race but not sure where to start? Join us in the beautiful Borrowdale Valley and spend an enjoyable day learning navigation basics including terrain choices, kit, navigation and other tactics related to mountain marathons.

 

Beginners Mountain Running*

If you're keen to get involved in the world of mountain running, but not quite sure where to start, this is the course for you. Whether you're looking to prepare for a trail race, make the jump from road to fell, or simply looking to move faster and more confidently on your next adventure, this one-day course in the heart of the Lake District will see you running on and off trails, learning about terrain, navigation and the kit needed to go on your own.
