Based in malt whisky country, the Ben Rinnes Hill Race a Scottish long classic. It follows an out and back to Ben Rinnes, the dominant hill in Dufftown, passing the summits of Little and Meikle Convals on the outward and return journeys.
As an up and down route, the race is pure perfection. Matterhorn-like, Pike of Blisco rears up from the Langdale valley like a challenge, asking: How fast can you climb it and return? 
Approximately 5 miles of forest tracks, paths and fire roads in the beautiful Haldon Forest Park, Exeter.

Fastpacking is best described as fast light and overnight where you head into the hills for a multi-day trail running adventure. This minimalistic style allows you to cover large distance in less than half of the normal hiking time.
The 2nd Rodent Wriggle to be held with a13.5 mile, 23 mile and a 50k (31.5 mile)route. The 13.5 mile route branches off the main route at 7 miles, and the 23 mile route branches off it at 12.5 miles, with both returning to the main route to finish.

The South Shields 10 Mile Race will return in 2024 along the beautiful coastline of South Shields. The race is highly regarded in the North East running calendar and a great benchmark of fitness before the Great North Run in September.
The race is nearly all off road, following the beautiful River Dart. It starts and finishes on Borough Park and uses the Totnes Leisure Centre as its Race HQ, where there are plenty of toilets, showers and changing facilities.
The race is a 1-mile Fun Run around the perimeter of Borough Park. This always proves really popular and gives all those taking part the chance to complete a safe, measured 1-mile course.

The Lurig Challenge Run is part of The Heart of the Glens Festival and is a 3.8 mile run to the summit of Lurig and back again.

The Peak District Ultras are three ultra-marathon races wrapped into one epic weekend of adventure in the Peak District National Park: The Millstone 100, The Limestone 50 and the Peveril 33.
The concept is simple. Run 4.167 miles every hour, on the hour & complete as many laps as you can! Each circuit must be completed in less than 60 minutes with the remaining time within the hour typically used to recover for the next circuit.

The Simon Wake Comrie Hills Relay is a 43k relay race with 1,733m of ascent, run in 4 stages starting and finishing in Comrie village. The race follows a route up and around the hills on either side of beautiful Glen Lednock.
The Stretton Skyline is a very tough and long race and not recommended for inexperienced fell runners.

The prestigious annual relay event in the Northern Ireland and Ulster road running calendar. Each relay team consists of 4 runners affiliated with the same club. Each runner covers 1 lap (1690m) for the mixed relays; 2 laps each for the other races.
Run from the foot of the highest mountain in the UK to the top, then back again. Open to all amateurs aged 18 or over on 1st January. The event takes place at 1pm from New Town Park, Claggan, Fort William.
Cronkley Fell Race is a 17km route across the scenic fells of Upper Teesdale, with over 560 meters of climbing. Running parallel to the River Tees itself, it is an out and back route, beginning and finishing in the quiet hamlet of Holwick.
The DR40 is the spectacular finale to the series, starting and finishing in the heart of Raydale alongside the stunning Semerwater.
The 8th Edition of the Dartmoor VOLCANO Race. This is a high-level route touching southern Dartmoor's highest point - Ryder's Hill. The route traverses rocky, boggy terrain to reach, and then ascend, the focal point of the Race, the Red Lake Volcano.

A fully marked ultra on nice underfoot, runnable scenic trails. The route heads into Sherwood Forest to take in Robin Hoods homeland before returning back to South Wheatley. A relatively flat run with mild undulations make it a 'fast' course.
In simple turns run in circles for your chosen time period. The course is 4.2 miles long so that runners wanting to replicate a Backyard format can do so. Both events will start at 10am and it's up to you how slow or fast you run.
