Borrowdale Fell Race - Final Details

We have applied the relevant patches to our servers to address the PHP issues you may have read about in the news. CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619

Parking & Camping

You can park on the parking/camping field any time from 5pm on Friday. Please have £5 cash ready as you arrive at the parking. You can camp on Friday and Saturday night and there is no additional charge for camping.

Mandatory Full Kit Check & Registration From 9am

This year Registration will take place in it's usual venue, the Village Institute. Please bring all your kit for the mandatory full kit check which will take place before you can receive your race number and SI-Card. FRA mandatory kit is:

Hat & gloves
Map, compass and whistle
Waterproof top (with an integral hood)
Waterproof trousers
Emergency food

You are strongly advised to take a spare long-sleeved top.

The Race Will Start At 11am

We will be using the same field as last year, which is next to the Institute. This is not the field in front of the Scafell Hotel.

After the race there is free food and refreshments in the Institute.

SPORTident Timing

Please wear your SI-Card (timing chip) like a watch and slip it onto your wrist a soon as you are given it. This event is using traditional SI-Cards so you dip at every checkpoint and at the Finish. The checkpoints are:

Bessyboot
Esk Hause (Live Results)
Scafell Pike (Live Results)
Styhead
Great Gable (Live Results)
Honister
Dale Head (Live Results)

After you finish or if you retire, you must proceed directly to the Download Tent and hand in your SI-Card. Unless you do this you will not appear in the results and we will assume you are still on the fells. Failure to hand in your SI-Card could trigger an MRT call out and you will be excluded from future events.

There is a charge of £30 if you lose your chip and £16 if you break your SI-Card.

Live progress will be available from 4 checkpoints, mobile signal permitting. These are Esk Hause, Scafell Pike, Great Gable and Dale Head.

You must hand in your SI-Card to get a final result and If you scan the QR Code at the bottom of your splits print, you can see online results on your phone at the venue, mobile signal permitting.
