Thanks for supporting this Sunday's defibrillator fundraising run. Here are some final details.
Race HQ is Chinley Community Centre, SK23 6BE. Parking in the village is extremely limited. The Centre car park will be closed. There may be space in the (paid) station car park, but please walk, cycle, or take the train if you can. We can look after your bag, and there is a changing room inside.
Registration is on the tennis court to the left of the centre. I'll be there from 10:30. You can start any time between 11 and noon, whenever you're ready. Online entries will remain open on the day, so tell your friends.
This is a self-navigation event. I've attached the map below [hi-res download], so you can plan your route. You'll get a paper copy at registration. You start/finish at the centre (black/white) and visit the six phone boxes (red) in any order. In each, on top of the defib cabinet, is a small box with a rubber stamp to prove you've been.
Unless you get really lost, the run should be 10-11 km (6-7 mi). Mostly road, with some off-road depending on your route choice. But road shoes will be fine. It'll be around 20°C, so take water with you. There are cows and calves in the first field between Chapel Milton and the Wash, so you might want to take the road on that section if you're cow-phobic.
Please follow the highway code and the countryside code. And please please if you drop out, give me or Brian a call (phone number on the map) so we don't start a man-hunt.
The race is part of Chinley Fête, which is on 11-4. Come for the race, stay for the burgers and bouncy castles.
See you on Sunday!
