We are good to go! If you have friends who are thinking about entering, we still have a few places available on the 2 longer routes, and plenty of space on the 10k.
We are also accepting on the day entries for the 10K and Half Marathon and possibly the 23 ml route if there's any space.
Currently the weather forecast for Sunday is cool and breezy with a chance of a shower although of course that could change. Please see the section below about availability of water on the routes.

There are 50 free parking spaces available (providing that you park carefully) at Settle College BD24 0AU which is a 5 to 10 minute walk away from the event centre. This car park will be signed, but the route to Victoria Hall will not. Please note that this car park will close shortly after the last entrant has returned to Victoria Hall.
Please do not park in the swimming pool car park over the road.
If the Settle College car is full then there are other pay-for parking options in Settle - click here for details. Ashfield car park is very close to the event centre at Victoria Hall and there are more toilets available at the Whitefriars car park.
Registration/Loos/Start/Finish are all located at Victoria Hall in Settle. BD24 9DZ
Please arrive between 10 and 15 mins and no more than 20 minutes before your start time.
Registration is in front of the cafe in the garden of Victoria Hall which will be open all day for drinks and snacks. There are also toilets available in Victoria Hall.
Leave everything else in your car and leave nothing at the Start/Finish.
To avoid a queue, you must visit Registration no more than 15 minutes before your Start Time with all your race/walk kit, ready to start. There will be a short queue in front of Victoria Hall, we aim to start entrants at a rate of 2 per minute. If you arrive early then you can wait in the cafe garden.
If you arrive after your registered event has closed you will not be able to run/walk it.
You will be given a Race Number and an SI-Card (Timing Card).
PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN SAFETY PINS. RACE NUMBERS MUST NOT BE TRIMMED OR FOLDED AND MUST BE ATTACHED TO YOUR FRONT.
When you are have registered and been issued with the SI-Card you can start 23 mile or the 13 mile events. Your timing starts when you dip it into the Start Station. The 10KM event is likely to be a Mass Start around10:15.
Dip your SI-Card at each Checkpoint Station on your course and at the Finish. You will only get a result if you dip your SI-Card at each checkpoint.
You must hand in your SI-Card at the Finish otherwise you will not appear on the results and it could trigger an unnecessary Mountain Rescue callout. There is a charge of £25 for any SI-Card that is lost or not handed in.
The route is fully marked and on the 10k route, marshals are at key points. You can also download a route description, Route map and GPS file from our website (but you must follow the GPS in a clockwise direction). It is advisable to carry a map of the route with you, it could be a printout from the download on our website. Alternatively you could have the map on your phone.

THE 23 MILE AND 13 MILE ROUTES WILL BE FLAGGED WITH RED AND WHITE TAPE AND THE 10K ROUTE WITH BLACK AND YELLOW TAPE. THERE IS A SHORT SECTION WHERE ROUTES OVERLAP SO TAKE CARE!
No food is being provided on the route so you will need to carry any snacks that you require. There are cafes at Clapham and Feizor and food is available before and after the event at the Victoria Hall Cafe next to the event gazebo. On the 13 and 23 mile routes there will be water provided at all of the checkpoints . Please ensure that you carry sufficient water with you.
Jugs of water will be provided which you can use to fill your bottles.
Please carry a lightweight rain top with you in case you have an accident which incapacitates you and you need to keep warm. We recommend you take a bit of emergency food. Hat, gloves and waterproof trousers are NOT required.

PLEASE BRING SAFETY PINS FOR YOUR RACE NUMBER.
LATEST COMPLETION TIME on the day is 4.30pm for the two shorter routes and 5.30pm for the 23miles route. Some checkpoints will have commensurate closure times and entrants must retire when asked to do so.
RETIREMENTS. Anyone wishing to retire must only do so at a manned checkpoint. If needed, arrangements will be made to return retirees to the start.
COUNTRY CODE. Please close all gates that you open, keep to the tracks and do take home litter. Sheep & cattle will be encountered so it is advisable not to bring a dog unless it is guaranteed safe and is kept on a lead. If, in the unlikely event that you are confronted by cattle, it is best to release your dog.
Be aware, the routes contain ladder stiles that dogs may find challenging.
Hand in your SI-Card. The SPORTident team download your SI-Card and you receive a splits print which shows your time at each checkpoint on your course. The Victoria Hall Cafe will be open and you can buy drinks and food.
As this is a Challenge Event, there are no prizes. We hope to have a results screen at the event but you can also view results online on your mobile phone (signal permitting) at:

Your result should appear within a few minutes of you finishing the event. You can scan the QR Code at the bottom of the splits print and results will appear on your mobile phone, mobile signal permitting.After the event each result will also include a link that allows you to download your Event Certificate.
