Please car share where possible. There is no parking for competitors at Braithwaite Lodge - this is used for the race event team.
Please use the old A66 road opposite Braithwaite and take care crossing the busy A66 into Braithwaite. If you do park in Braithwaite village itself, please do not block any entrances or driveways and ensure that vehicles can pass easily. we rely on the co-operation of the local village so please park with due courtesy.
Registration is at Braithwaite Lodge.
The race starts at 11am.
Registration opens at 9.15am and closes at 10.45am.
You will need to carry the following with you during the race:
If you don't have this kit with you, you will not be allowed to race. You must have your kit checked before you collect your start number.
The course starts at the foot of the track below Braithwaite Lodge. The route is flagged past the lodge then across the fell to the Stile End path. You then make your own way to Stile End (checkpoint 1) and then Outerside (checkpoint 2). There is a short flagged section off Outerside which must be followed. you then join the miners track downhill before breaking off left towards Barrow Door and your final climb up onto Barrow (checkpoint 3). The finish is back at Braithwaite Lodge.
If you retire from the race, please tell a race marshall and report back to the race finish to avoid any unnecessary call outs to mountain rescue.
The forecast is currently misty with light winds with temperatures of roughly 2 degrees. The ground underfoot will be boggy, wet and slippy so you must wear appropriate footwear.
This event will use the SIAC – a contactless timing card which avoids the need to dip the card. At the end of the event, whether you Finish or need to retire, all SIACS MUST be handed in to the Registration/Download desk. Telling a checkpoint marshal isn't sufficient. Reporting to the Finish is an essential safety requirement of the event and avoids an unnecessary search and a potential ban by the FRA from future events. You will not get a result for the event until the SI-Card is handed in as all your times are stored on the card. Failure to hand back a hired SIAC will incur a charge of £50 and could disqualify you from taking part in a future event.
