The Christmas Beast of Llangollen is a brutal test of endurance, determination and grit through the spectacular Ceiriog Valley in North Wales. This is not about smooth miles or easy trails—it’s about conquering one of the region’s most legendary mountain bike routes.
Expect around 42km packed with approximately 1,400m (4,600ft) of relentless climbing as you battle your way over the infamous “Six Lumps.” Every climb pushes you harder, every summit rewards you with breathtaking views, and every descent reminds you why you ride.
There is also a shorter version of the Beast on offer at 25km.
The route weaves through quiet country lanes, rugged bridleways, steep gravel climbs and exposed moorland, delivering an unforgettable late-autumn adventure in the Welsh hills.
Whether you’re chasing a personal challenge, riding with friends, or simply looking to earn your Christmas dinner, this is the perfect way to close out the MTB season.
An accurate GPx will be supplied for navigating the route. You will need a phone or device in order to do this.
