The BIG Brenig Swim will take place in Llyn Brenig, nr Cerrigydrudion, North Wales. The main 2.5km open water swim is two full widths of the lake, starting beside the visitor center. For those that want a bigger challenge we also have a 5kmswim that will see participants swimming two laps of the 2.5km course. We also have two shorter swim options of 500mand 1km that are also open to children of 6 years upwards (must be accompanied on the swim by a fee paying adult).
Wetsuit and non-wetsuit places are available! (If the water temperature is below 15 degrees on the day of the event then wetsuits will be mandatory for all swimmers)
Junior entires (age 12-15) are available in the 500m and 1km swims.

Swim Distances:
The swim course is linear, marked by a line of inflatable buoys, with swimmers swimming in both directions during the event.
The 5km distance takes in two full laps of the course (4 x widths of the lake).
The 4.5km is one lap of the course (2 x widths of the lake).
The 1km and 500m involve swimming out towards the middle of the lake and around an inflatable marker buoy before returning to the finish line.
Cut off time: There is a cut off time of 3.5 hours for all distances.
Entries
Age restrictions: You must be over 16 years of age on the day of the race to enter the 2.5km or 5km event.
Junior entries: Children aged 12 and above can complete the 500m or 1km swim if accompanied in the water by a fee paying adult who must swim with them and take complete responsibility for them. Each adult may only accompany 1 child. Wetsuits and tow floats are compulsory for junior participants.
Wetsuit and non-wetsuit entries are available. Non-wetsuit swimmers must wear a swimming tow float.
