We are delighted to share our new venue with you at Preese Hall. This session will take place 10:30 - 11:30am
The Lake:
Is beautiful and set in rural Fylde location. It is only chest depth for the most part.
The left gets very shallow if you swim too close to the bank, the far right is slightly deeper. The owners have water tested the lake, it is safe to swim in, the floor is peaty, they have the occasional guest fishermen but there will be no whilst we are swimming, we will have sole use.
Please be mindful that this is still a working farm and we ask that you don’t bring dogs on site, we thank you for your understanding.
Wetsuits are optional, Tow floats are Compulsory, we recommend bright coloured hats to aid visibility or bobble hats in the winter.
After the swim :
There will be a log burner (Winter only) to greet you in the gun room next to the toilets.
Many of the swimmers on a Monday have started visiting ‘Woody’s Café’ at the - Koi Pool Water Gardens, 35 Mains Ln, Little Singleton, Poulton-le-Fylde FY6 7LJ. So this is an option if your wanting food and a chat afterwards.
Facilities:
You can change at your vehicle, or you can take belongings to water to change afterwards or change in the toilets, the gun room will be open you can change in there also, please bring your own hot drinks.
Tow floats will be available if required as well as supervision & bank safety provision during your swim.
How to get there: By Car
Located at Preese Hall Farm, Weeton, PR4 3HT, if approaching from Lytham it’s the first left turn before turning into the Army Camp, from Wyre direction it’s the first right after the main gate for the barracks it is signposted on the fence.
This is a private facility, secure gates, enter code, drive up to the next sign, turn left. Parking will be on the courtyard or to the left. Please see final details for more detailed instructions.
By Bus:
76 Blackpool – St. Annes bus stops outside the camp, opp Halton Street at 09:21.
75 Fleetwood – opposite Kirkham road at 09:50.
75 Preston – Fleetwood - opposite Kirkham road at 09:23.
Quite a walk still from this stop, so care needed.
