Can be done solo, in a pair, or as a group of 3 or more. Each participant needs to put in an individual entry EXCEPT accompanied youngsters under 18 who go for FREE (when accompanied by a paying adult who must be 21+). Juniors aged 16 and above can run/walk alone with parental permission - in this case they need their own individual entry with discretionary discount codes available as below: Individual entrants aged 16-21 are invited to use the discretionary discount code SpunchZoom50. This will provide a 50% discount on the applicable entry fee. Intended for students in full time education or on very low or zero income. Entrants aged 22-25 are invited to use the young adult discount code Spunch25. This will provide a 25% discount on the applicable entry fee intended for young adults just starting out in life with low resources. A waterproof map of the course is provided to ALL participants. Spunch! Is a big sporty treasure hunt with a difference - A fun, friendly & safe mini-adventure with a unique & colourful map. Suitable for all ages & abilities - no previous experience required. Locals and newcomers always welcome.
Run or walk. 2k to 22k, the choice is yours! 60, 90 and 120 min course duration options (you can choose on the day itself).

Visit as many checkpoints as you can in the time available, Satellite punching using the MapRun app on your smartphone, Garmin or Apple Watch. With over 60 SpunchPoints to go for - how many will you bag?
For runners, walkers, friends & families. Go solo, pair or in a group of 3 or more. We can usually pair you up on the day if you prefer not to go alone. Lots of help available for newbies. Dogs are welcome too, but must be kept on a lead and under control at all times.
On-site Registration opens at 1730 and you can start anytime from 1730 to 1930. (Last start for 120 min course 1845; Last start for 90 min course 1915. One of our all-in-the-dark autumn evening series. It will be dark from 1700. HI VIS & TORCHES FOR ALL AT THIS ONE PLEASE.
Final details and the MapRun courses are usually published to all entrants on the day before the event giving you time to make a route plan!
Where?
The Foundry, Market Quarter, Princess St, Congleton CW12 1AB
An overdue return to the Foundry and the Congleton Market Quarter CMQ. The venue will provide a warm welcome with a wide selection of drinks. A wide variety of food is available from one of several outlets in the Market Quarter. There are also some drinks Specials available from the Foundry. The venue is child & dog friendly.
Parking, Registration, Help, Bag Drop, Loos, Start, Finish, Results, Food & Drink all at or near the venue.
Just 12 mins from M6 J17, and within 20 mins of M6 J16/18 the event centre is conveniently located for Crewe, Nantwich, Alsager, Kidsgrove, the Potteries, Biddulph, Leek, Macclesfield, Alderley Edge, Knutsford, Holmes Chapel, Winsford, Middlewich etc. Ample and convenient parking adjacent to the Foundry.
Catch the Spunch Train! The Foundry is a 2k flat walk from Congleton Train Station which is well served by direct trains from Manchester, Stoke and everything in between.
The Area & Course
An overdue return to Congleton but this time we will head South and West. About 50/50 on-road and off-road trails. You might take the low hanging fruit in the town centre before heading west riverside along the Dane. Keep your eyes open for the otter(s)... You will probably explore the network of park & woodland paths around Astbury Mere and longer distance merchants will head out even further west.
Lots of route choice and lots of undulating and less undulating options at this one. Good running / walking on a mixture of underfoot conditions from tarmac to off-road paths*. There will be something for everyone and even locals will likely discover new paths and places!
