Can be done solo, in a pair, or as a group of 3 or more. Each participant needs to put in an individual entry EXCEPT accompanied youngsters under 18 who go for FREE (when accompanied by a paying adult who must be 21+). Juniors aged 16 and above can run/walk alone with parental permission - in this case they need their own individual entry with discretionary discount codes available as below: Individual entrants aged 16-21 are invited to use the discretionary discount code SpunchZoom50. This will provide a 50% discount on the applicable entry fee. Intended for students in full time education or on very low or zero income. Entrants aged 22-25 are invited to use the young adult discount code Spunch25. This will provide a 25% discount on the applicable entry fee intended for young adults just starting out in life with low resources. A waterproof map of the course is provided to ALL participants. Spunch! Is a big sporty treasure hunt with a difference - A fun, friendly & safe mini-adventure with a unique & colourful map. Suitable for all ages & abilities - no previous experience required. Locals and newcomers always welcome.
A Spunch with a difference! Run or walk to 3 SpunchPoints on 'The 3 Peaks of Buxton' - Burbage Edge, Corbar Cross and Solomons Temple. The route choice and order visited is up to you. We think the optimum route for the event will cover around 11.5km with 450m of climbing but you may choose a different route!
The event is open to all and we are delighted to be staging this one from The Duke Burbage
Satellite punching using the MapRun app on your smartphone, Garmin or Apple Watch.
For runners, walkers, friends & families. Go solo, pair or in a group of 3 or more. We can usually pair you up on the day if you prefer not to go alone. Lots of help available for newbies. Dogs are welcome too, but must be kept on a lead and under control at all times.
On-site Registration opens at 09.30am and you can start anytime from 09.30am - 11.00am. The course will close at 3.45pm so please arrive in plenty of time to complete your chosen route.
This is a winter challenge in hill country. The following safety equipment will therefore be mandatory and checked at registration:
- Waterproof whole-body cover — taped seams and integrated attached hood
- Hat
- Gloves
- Physical map of the route
- Traditional physical compass
- Whistle
- Emergency food
- Torch (not on your phone)
Final details and the Map will be published to all entrants 3 days before the event giving you time to make a route plan!

The Duke Burbage, 123 St Johns Road, Burbage, Buxton SK17 6UR
The venue will provide a warm welcome with drinks and food available (details to be confirmed). The venue has both indoor and outdoor areas and is both child & dog friendly.
Parking, Registration, Help, Bag Drop, Loos, Start, Finish, Results, Food & Drink all at or near the venue.
Getting there: On the train line from Manchester. By Road on the A6 and A54 especially convenient for High Peak, Leek and Macclesfield
The Area & Course
A twist on our usual format. The Buxton 3 peaks will have only 3 Spunchpoints which can be visited in any order and using any (legitimate) route you choose. Who will plan and execute the most cunning route? The route will take in the 3 Peaks of Buxton and the map will include options to walk or run on woodland trails, tarmac and exposed areas of moorland. It is called the 3 Peaks and so there will be hills! Please note that the final published MapRun course may include Out of Bounds areas.
Hope you will come along and give it a go. *total absence of mud can not be guaranteed!
